Afterescaping from jail at the end of Chapter 11,Strayplayers will be faced with one final hurdle: the control room. This futuristic facility full of high-tech gadgets and gizmos is now the only thing standing between them and the outside world, though opening the door to finally get there is going to take more than just pressing a few buttons.

First, players will need to figure out how to get inside the control room, after which, they’ll have to work with B-12 to open up the door to the outside world. Chapter 12 ofStrayis also where B-12 will remember the last of his 27 memories, which is triggered automatically once players have managed to crack open the control room doors.

How to Complete Chapter 12 of Stray

As soon as Chapter 12 ofStraybegins, players should disembark the train, make their way up the escalators to the highest floor, and then take a left. There are some robots that can be spoken to along the way, though, aside from a bit of additional lore, they don’t really have too much to say. Eventually, players will come to a large glass door that leads to the control room.

Interacting with the panel to the right of this door will yield no results, so players should instead look for the moving box a little to their right. Just like the boxes that they used whilesolving the Atomic Battery puzzle at the Neco Corp factory in Midtown, players will be able to position this box wherever they like. To progress the story, it will need to be moved to the spot in front of the white panel to the left of the control room doors.

Once the box is in position, players should again interact with the panel to the right of the door and then quickly jump onto the box thye just positioned and press the Triangle button to begin scratching at the internals of the door lock mechanism. The panel will close automatically after just a few seconds, so players will need to be quick with their shoulder button presses in order to cause the door locks to malfunction.

With the lock now broken, players can pass through the two sets of glass doors and into the control room, where the last of B-12’s story-related memories will be unlocked. Assuming players gatheredthe 22 optional B-12 memories that can be found throughoutStray’s first eleven chapters, the “I Remember!” trophy will unlock at this point and they’ll get the special rainbow jacket. Players can then make their way to the big computer at the far end of the control room and inspect the panel for a short cutscene.

Before B-12 can get the computer fully working, players will need to help bring all of its systems back online. To do so, they’ll need to head to the three long banks of computers just behind them. Some of them are already operational, but those which aren’t will need to be turned on by stepping on the keyboards in front of the monitors. Players will need to be mindful, however, as stepping on the keyboard of a computer that’s already on will turn it off again.

When all three banks of computers are fully activated, another cutscene will be triggered, withB-12revealing that three additional layers of security will need to be bypassed in order to fully open up the city. When they regain control, players should look for three yellow computer monitors with padlocks on them scattered around the control room, the first of which should be a little to the left of their starting position.

To disable the security, players will need to interact with panels and objects near these machines by pressing the Triangle button to reveal the electrical components inside. They’ll then need to scratch away at the cables, which will then allow them to hack the terminals using B-12. For those having trouble finding them, the three terminals are located to the left and right of the main computer and to the right of the roof control station terminal.

With each subsequent security layer disabled, B-12 will grow weaker and weaker. After disabling all three, players will need to carry the little drone over to the roof control station terminal to the right of the main computer and place it on the big blue pad. This will trigger a long cutscene, after which, players should leave the control room the same way they came in and then take a right towardthe big red door at the bottom of the stairs. As they approach, the door will slide open, allowing players to finally head outside and complete the main story ofStray.
