Long-timeApex Legendsplayers are growing frustrated with the number of bugs and glitches still present in the game. Recently, a new exploit was discovered that lets players farm kills inApex Legends' Firing Range to boost their player stats and Legend tracker numbers, as well as K/D ratios.

According to EA player reports, as well as a growing number of players tweeting about the issue, the problem stems from teammates' use ofValkyrie’s ultimate in the Firing Rangewhile friendly fire is enabled. Normally, when killing a teammate in the Firing Range, the kill isn’t tracked by anything in-game and players will respawn immediately. With this exploit, players have found ways to climb into the ranks ofApex Legends' most deadly players based on numbers.

The glitch appears to not only add kills to player trackers and stats in a positive way, though. The exploit also appears to mess up kill/death ratios. If a player dies in the firing range while using this exploit, intentionally or not, it could send their K/D into a tailspin. Many players have spent the majority of the last two years tactically to build up impressive K/D ratios or total kill numbers, but this glitch appears to fast-track that process for those willing to risk it.

Fans ofApex Legendshave grown used to the game’s many minor glitches. For example, for almost the entirety ofApex LegendsSeason 8 the Legend Loba had issues with her tactical teleporting ability, a problem only recently fixed. Additionally, the game is plagued with constant server problems, such as major outages seen at thelaunch ofApex LegendsSeason 9.

There are few exploits in the game that go unpunished byApex Legendsdeveloper Respawn and publisher EA. In February 2021,Respawn rolled out a major ban wave hitting over 500 playerswho were exploiting various elements of the game, like wallhacks or exploiting minor glitches. It has become a much more serious issue in recent months as Respawn has had to deal with an increasing number of DDOS attacks inApex Legends.

The exploit in the firing range isfrustrating for long-timeApex Legendsplayers who have spent years perfecting their game, only to be knocked out of the upper echelons by cheaters. It’s not the first time an exploit has affected dedicated players, though Respawn is giving indications that it is taking cheating more seriously than when the game first launched.

Apex Legendsis available on the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
