Finally, as with all collection events, there are tons of new cosmetics available for the legends as well asa brand-new heirloom for Crypto- the Biwon Blade. Add in the usual trackers for seasonal episodes, weekly and daily challenges, and a new reward tracker for free stuff, and players would be forgiven for missing out on one key component added during last week’s update: Bangalore’s Apex Chronicles quest.
Much like Bloodhound’s “Old Ways, New Dawn” quest back in season 10, players have to complete a series of tasks that has them following the story of Anita Williams, aka Bangalore. There are three chapters to her Apex Chronicles quest, with each subsequent chapter being unlocked after a set number of days. As of now, players can complete all three chapters without having to wait for her story to unfold; giving them an uninterrupted look into the character and the lore ofApex Legends.

Living With it
Bangalore’s Apex Chronicles quest, titled “The Williams Sendoff”, starts with Renee Blasey, aka Wraith, visiting her friend, Bangalore.Previously tasked with helping Bangalorein her search for her long-lost brother, Jackson Williams, Wraith procures a set of dog tags bearing Jackson’s name. She explains to Bangalore that she found them at a morgue on planet Solace, along with the records of a five-year-old body that matched her brother’s age, height, and weight. Since the body wasn’t identified in time, the morgue burned the body.
This leaves a distraught Anita to grieve over her seemingly dead brother. WithBangalore brought up in a family of soldiers, her best method of coping with the loss is by practicing at the firing range. It is here where players are given their first task: to shoot down at least 35 targets in 60 seconds using a provided G7 Scout rifle found on a special weapon rack. Completing the task sees Bangalore calm down and rewards the player with a tracker showcasing the highest number of targets they hit as well as a load screen. They can interact with the special weapon rack and redo the challenge anytime and with any legend after completing it.

The Taste of Loss
The second chapter of The Williams Sendoff sees Bangalore reminiscing about her and her brother. In a flashback, they’re talking about how their duty as soldiers prevents them from ever seeing their family again. While Bangalore’s outlook on the matter is quite grim, Jackson instead prefers on celebrating the moments they shared with their family by keeping their memory alive (which in this case means baking theirgrandma’s red velvet cake).
This time, players have to hit a moving target usingthe provided Bocek bowon the special weapon rack found again in the firing range. They have to score at least 1,000 points in 60 seconds to beat Jackson’s original score, during which Anita will remember moments from the crash that separated her from her brother. Finishing chapter 2 unlocks yet another load screen and tracker, only this time the tracker shows players their highest score in the Bocek challenge. Like the first chapter before it, completing the second chapter allows players to take part in the challenge again and outdo their previous high score.

Broken Hearts Break Hearts
The third and final chapter of The Williams Sendoff has players shooting moving DUMMIE NPCs witha fully-kitted P2020 in the firing range. The DUMMIEs are hidden in smoke, so they have to make use of the gun’s digital treat to pinpoint where the targets are. Doing 1,250 points of damage in 60 seconds completes the challenge and rewards players with one final tracker showing the max damage done and the last loading screen.
During this final challenge, Bangalore thinks not of her family, but of Loba, her fellow legend. The two used to share a strong bond, but have had a bit of a falling out since Loba overheard Bangalore explain that they were just good friends (the former obviously wanted something more). The final chapter ends with the two parting in a bad way, as Bangalore takes up Revenant’s offer to go back to her home world of Gridiron while he searches for his source code -something Loba robbed him off back on Olympus.

Bottlecaps
In the finale of The Williams Sendoff, players spawn inon the shore of Ship Fall- the very same ship Anita and Jackson crashed in. She takes a bottle of beer, removes the cap, and tosses it into the water. This completes the sendoff for her supposedly dead brother, Jackson. With the final task completed and nothing holding her back, Bangalore prepares to set off back home.
Apex Chronicles quests slow down the action ofApex Legendsand give players a closer look at what drives the game’s legends. For Bloodhound, they wanted to live up to their namesake and uphold the ways of their people. For Bangalore, it was to find her brother and make her way home. With Jackson seemingly gone, she has only one more goal left to complete.
Apex Legendsis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and mobile devices.
