Ark: Survival Ascendedmap The Center has been launched and, with it, the new paid DLC,Fantastic Tames, has been revealed, along with the Pyromane. It’s currently available on all platforms for $4.99. This is the second paid DLC forArk: Survival Ascended, but the first to focus on creatures with unique abilities.
The first DLC,Bob’s Tall Tales, introduced a wild west theme and the walking baseOasisaur toASA. A tameable creature, the Oasisaur can become a fully mobile, though slow moving, base for players who want the comforts of home while exploring.Bob’s Tall Talesalso added buried treasure hunts, wild west-themed structures, and trains.
TheFantastic TamesDLC currently only has one creature that it adds to the game, the Pyromane, a tameable large cat that’s named for its fiery abilities. It can be ridden without a saddle, and there’s no need forASA’s high heat-resistant armor. Not only does it set fire to enemies, but it can turn into a flaming ball when jumping great distances. It also has two forms, the giant rideable flame lion, and the carryable kitten. As a lion, it lets players dash through enemies, walk on lava, light forges and fires, and even cook food. As a kitten, the Pyromane acts as an adorable, yet deadly, flamethrower. Tossing the kitten changes it to the lion form.
Ark: Survival Ascended Fantastic Tames DLC Introduces the Pyromane
The Pyromane can be seen hunting as a pack, using the fire trails left in their wake to trap prey. They can hunt large dinosaurs through various terrains, except into water which extinguishes their flaming mane. Due to their various uses, they’ll most likely become one of thebest tames to get inArk: Survival Ascended.
While the Pyromane is the only confirmed creature included inFantastic Tames, future additions will appear as more maps are released. All creatures, however, will have unique abilities that set them apart from the usual dinosaurs players find. Studio Wildcard plans to release moreFantastic Tamescreatures later this year.
Along with theFantastic TamesDLC, the Center map and thenew dinosaur Shastasaurus has been added toArk: Survival Ascended. The Center was originally slated for release in the first quarter of 2024, but was pushed back to ensure higher quality. Scorched Earth was released in its place, leading The Center to launch now. The remaining maps will roll out through the end of this year and into 2025.
