Summary

People are always talking about which guns are best or which shoulder weapons are best or even which legs are the best inArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. And, while those are all legitimate conversations, what about the smaller parts of an AC? Things like the FCS, the Generator, or the Booster all have a pretty huge impact on a build as well.

In fact, it’s safe to say at this point that a good portion of the people playingArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconlikely aren’t even aware of how much their Booster impacts their build, including even the wackiest of builds. So, with that in mind, let’s go over the Boosters that players seem to be using and enjoying the most.

7BC-0600 12345 - RaD

First up is a Booster with probably the funniest line in its description: “The eccentric model number suggests development under intoxicating influences”. But, as an actually viable part (developed by people ‘under the influence’ apparently), the BC-0600s are perfect for heavier or ultra-heavy AC builds with less of a focus on speed and more of a focus on reliable Quick Boosts. While these Quick Boosts aren’t…well, all that quick, they do go a great distance, making them perfect for a heavy machine to get out of the way of some laser cannon or other deadly armament.

6AB-J-137 KIKAKU - Baws

Moving on to a melee-centric Booster, the Kikaku. This thing has such an absurd Melee Attack Thrust number, and this makes it the perfect Booster choice for someone who wants to focus on some of the game’s amazing melee options. Whether that’s a pile bunker, a laser dagger, or something more elaborate, this Booster will make using that melee weapon very easy.

While its overall Thrust leaves a lot to be desired and the QB Duration isn’t stellar, that Melee Attack Thrust and Melee Attack EN Consumption value more than make up for it. However, if a player isn’t using a melee-focused build, there’s not much of a reason to use this particular Booster.

5ALULA/21E - Schneider

Apparently, this next Booster is ‘hands down’ the one to use for players who want to attempt to avoid all damage inAC6. These Schneider Boosters are all about Thrust Speed, whether that’s Quick Boost Thrust Spped, or Thrust in general, they’re going to make the player move around quickly.

The only real downside is that they’rea bit weightier in terms of Load and EN Load, but the tradeoff is usually more than worth it for most builds. Plus, the description of the Booster itself mentions how useful these things are on lightweight builds, so it makes sense why players are seeing all these ‘Balteus Speedrun No Damage’ videos where the maker of the video is using the ALULAs.

4IA-CO1B: GILLS - Rubicon Research Institute

For any Soulslike fanwho finds themselves relying on spamming the Dodge Roll input too often, take a look at the IA-CO1Bs, AKA the GILLS. These Boosters specialize in one thing, rapid-fire Quick Boosts. These QBs don’t go far and the Reload Ideal Weight for them is quite restrictive, but players sure can just Quick Boost as much as they want with complete freedom.

Because all the other stats are only ‘okay’ or at worst ‘poor’, the Gills are a Booster that probablyisn’t great for new players to start with. But, once that player gets the hang of these Boosters, they’re going to look and feel so stylish in every mission.

3BC-0400 MULE - RaD

Another option for the heavier AC builds is the BC-0400 MULE. These Boosters had one key idea in mind ‘Bring consumption down, whatever it takes’. And, these Boosters fulfill that idea faithfully, as almost every stat outside of Upward EN Consumption, QB Jet Duration, QB EN Consumption, AB EN Consumption, and Melee Attack EN Consumption are pretty terrible.

With these Boosters on, Raven is slow, there’s no doubt about that. But, at least Raven can keep those Boosters on for a really long time, regardless of the action they’re performing.

2Buerzel/21D - Schneider

Next up is one of the Booster options that all of the players who either stumbled upon or researched any variation of the ‘Songbirds + Dual Shotguns’ build or ‘Songbirds + Dual Chainguns’ build are going to recognize. Basically, these Buerzel 21D Boosters specialize in Assault Boost Thrust Speed, Assault Boost EN Consumption, general Thrust, and Melee Attack Thrust.

They are literally designed to help a player close in as quickly (and as often) as possible with the Assault Boost. And given that the meta builds for this game are built around constantly Assault Boosting at opponents with absurdly high-impact weapons raring to go, these Boosters are seeing a lot of use across the player base.

1IB-CO3B: NGI 001 - ALLMIND

Unfortunately, one of the best Booster options in the game, hands down, is one that is sort of designed not to be seen until players are in NG+ (which doesn’t take all too long). To get the IB-CO3B: NGI 001, players need to reach Hunter Class 13, whichrequires a whole lot of Combat Logsto reach.

However, once obtained, these Boosters are so incredibly handy. They have an actually useful number for their Upward Thrust, meaning players finally have a Booster that lets them go up without siphoning all their EN Bar instantly. Secondly, they have a ridiculously fast QB Thrust Speed, making dodging last-second much easier. And as a final point, their energy usage is also pretty good, it’s not incredible, but it’s great considering all the other beneficial stats.
