French artist entroisdimensions, who’s known for making 3D-printed Pokemon, fueledPokemonfans' nostalgia by 3D printing large Game Boy Color cartridges featuring Pikachu and Venusaur. In two Instagram Reels, he showed the satisfying process of creating both cartridges, with half of Pikachu and Venusaur’s bodies emerging from their respective cartridges. The Venusaur one also looked similar to theJapan-exclusivePokemon GreenGame Boy Color cartridge.
ManyPokemonfans were impressed by the artist’s 3D creations, saying that they’re must-haves for every gaming room. Some fans also requested him to make Game Boy cartridges featuring other Pokemon. In the past, entroisdimensions has 3D-printed various Pokemon models, from miniature evolution lines to a fully functioning Pikachu phone charger. He’s also experimented with combining Pokemon, like a half Gengar and half Clefable statue that showed the perfect color combo of purple and pink.
With over 1,000 Pokemon across nine generations, the prominent franchise has inspired many of its dedicated fans to create art based on their favorites. Apart from entroisdimensions, there have been several 3D models, likesculptures of the Legendary Birdsand a battle diorama featuring Gengar and Nidorino, among others. Some have experimented on different mediums, such as stained-glass paintings and terrarium building, to showcase their creativity and reimagine Pokemon as different characters.
