InAssassin’s Creed 2, Ezio’s uncle Mario will eventually show him the legendary armor of Altair, sealed away beneath Monteriggioni. Players are able to visit several tombs scattered throughout the game that will eventually unlockAltair’s armor set, but the most important aspect of this is how it teased lore that wouldn’t be fulfilled for years. Surrounding this armor and statue of the legendary Altair are six other legendary assassins.
MostAssassin’s Creedfans are likely aware of two of them: Darius and Amunet. Through the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins, Bayek and Aya would go on to found the Hidden Ones, and Aya would eventually go on to adopt the name of Amunet. Aya played a huge role in the spread of the Hidden Ones, becoming legendary among their ranks and being remembered for Cleopatra’s assassination while Bayek would choose to be forgotten, befitting his particular view of the Creed. Meanwhile, players meetDarius inAssassin’s Creed OdysseyDLC, and he would go on to raise the child of Alexios/Kassandra. Darius' legendary feats include being the first to use a Hidden Blade and assassinating Xerxes I.

However, this means that the franchise has only ever really expanded upon three of the seven legendaryAssassin’s Creed 2assassins, andAssassin’s Creed Infinityshould be the solution to this.
Assassin’s Creed 2 Legendary Assassins + Infinity
Following Altair, Darius, and Amunet are Leonius, Iltani, Wei Yu, and Qulan Gal. Iltani is explained as a member of the Babylonian Brotherhood of Assassins inInitiatesandChronicles: India, though this is probably retconned by theevents ofAC Origins. Qulan Gal is referenced in the comics, and Wei Yu is referenced inAssassin’s Creed Dynasty, but none of these Assassins have been explored anything like the others.
While a full game dedicated to these Assassins as part of theAssassin’s Creed Infinityproject would be welcome, that’s unlikely as the first two games within it areAssassin’s Creed Red, the Japan-set open-world RPG andAssassin’s Creed Hexe, seemingly set during the Witch Hunts of the Holy Roman Empire. It’s not likely Infinity itself contains much, though it will house the modern-day story and Ubisoft is also looking into bringing in multiplayer. Indeed, the multiplayer component would do well to let fans learn more and explore other Assassins in unique ways, since it is not bound to one game. For example, it could be that players are dropped into a map and must assist the above Assassins in taking out their targets. This would expand the lore, keep these Assassins legendary, but could also expand the narrative somehow.

Perhaps, even, players could try to defend these characters asTemplars inAssassin’s Creed Infinity, working with Alexander the Great or Genghis Khan against the Assassins. Indeed, such little snippets could be fun and would be a great way of balancing the various lore tidbits found within the franchise.
Assassin’s Creed Infinityis in development.
