The Legend Of Korrabrought dozens of fast-paced fights to its evolving world, with characters who use their bizarre bending abilities to overpower large numbers of people. Many of the most powerful characters in the sequel toThe Last Airbenderare those who have unlocked rare bending abilities that are barely glimpsed in the original show.

The writers of the show have done an excellent job of showing how incredible bending abilities like Metalbending and Lightningbending have become much more commonplace in theindustry-oriented Republic City. Therefore, this means that inThe Legend of Korra,strength is not classified by being able to use a higher ability, but by a character’s skill and mastery over a specific discipline.
10Mako
From the beginning of the show, Mako is shown to be aproficient user of lightningand a champion bending athlete. While his character arc may not be the most interesting out of the main trio of protagonists, it’s undeniable that he can hold his own against some of the world’s most powerful benders, spirits, and other intimidating foes.
Mako’s physical strength allowed him to resist Amon’s bloodbending long enough to shoot him full of lightning and his deductive reasoning has gotten Korra and Bolin out of multiple dangerous situations proving that he is an invaluable member of Team Avatar.
9Lin Beifong
The oldest daughter of Toph Beifong is naturally one of thebest metalbenders alive. She has possibly learned too many things from her mother and has developed tendencies to be cold towards people she cares about. On the other hand, it has also made her a brutal fighter with a fierce determination to beat some of the most powerful characters in the show.
Despite being beaten by characters like Amon, she can tactically think like a soldier and act selflessly when she needs to protect Korra, her sister, or Tenzin.
8P’Li
The Last Airbendershowcased several incredible bending techniques outside the conventional four elements. Arguably the coolest of these was a variation of firebending called combustion bending that causes massive explosions to be propelled out of the third eye on a person’s head.

This extremely powerful ability was used by P’Li in the third season ofThe Legend Of Korrato devastating effect, winning almost every fight she was featured in. She was eventually defeated by both Beifong sisters working together to defeat her using a cuirass to encase her head right as she used an explosion. A brutal way to go.
7Tenzin
The youngest son of Avatar Aang and Katara would, of course, inherit his father’sincredible airbending talent. His mastery over airbending is shown in all seasons, most notably helping a new generation of airbenders train and revitalize the nomad traditions of his nation.
His most notable fight occurred in season three, where Tenzin was able to hold off the entire Red Lotus for a time, allowing the other airbenders to escape harm’s way. He was also able to avoid assassination, blow Amon away, and defeat a bunch of mechs, which isn’t bad either.
6Zaheer
Easily the most entertaining and well-written villain inThe Legend Of Korra, the season three villain was able to send the Earth Kingdom into complete anarchy by overthrowing the monarchy with the help of the three other members of the Red Lotus.
In the season finale, he was also able to unlock powers of airbending that hadn’t been used for millennia. By gaining the power of flight, Zaheer had gained significant power and almost succeeded in his plan in killing Korra by poisoning her.
5Suyin Beifong
The rebellious younger daughter of Toph Beifong, much like her sister, is one of the best metalbenders in the world and the leader of the metal bending city of Zaofu. In her youth, Suyin inherited the carefree nature of her mother andtraveled the worldbefore settling down to help build a city of metalbenders with her extended family.
Suyin is involved in several amazing fights despite her late entry into the show. She was able to hold her own against members of the Red Lotus and her fight against Kuvira is one of the best in the entire show.
4Kuvira
Kuvira is a metalbending prodigy and the tyrant antagonist of the final season of Korra. Easily one of the most skilled fighters in the show, her fast-paced boxing style of movement makes immediately puts any opponent she faces on the back foot.

Her fights against Korra are extremely entertaining, Kuvira beat her in their first encounter, forcing her to rely on the Avatar state. She is also able to beat dozens of people at once using fast sheets of metal to bind their limbs, preventing them from moving. She is quick, intelligent, ruthless, and one of the best fighters inThe Legend Of Korra.
3Amon
The main antagonist for the first season is by far the most physically durable fighter in the show. Amon uses speed and superior strength to get in close and take away people’s bending permanently and almost always succeeds over his opponent.
When pushed to his limits, he revealed his identity as a master bloodbender and was able to beat Korra and Mako by exerting absolute control over their bodies. His power to control people’s ability to bend along with his psychic bloodbending powers make him one of the most intimidating characters the show has.
2Wan
Shown through a two-episode flashback in the middle of the second season. The origin of the first Avatar was extremely compelling andshowed Wan in his journeyto learn the different elements and defeat Vaatu.
Being taught the elements by the Dragons, Bison, Badger Moles, and the Moon along with receiving extra power by periodically fusing with Raava allowed him to easily fend off humans who would harm the spirits and defeat Vaatu, preventing him from ushering in an age of darkness.
1Korra
The newest incarnation of the Avatar’s character arc shows her natural talent for bending the elements at a young age. Despite being defeated multiple times, she can grow from each experience and become stronger, even when she is put out of commission for a couple of years in the aftermath of her fight with Zaheer.
At the end of her character arc in season four, through her encounters with Amon, Unalaq, Zaheer, and Kuvira, she was able to change the world for the better by mastering her spiritual training. By maturing throughout the show, the mastery overher Avatar powersmakes her the most powerful character in the show.
