A couple of relics from the ’90s are finally getting their much-anticipated comeback now that a new trailer forBeavis and Butt-Head Do the Universehas been released, with the duos’ second movie set to land on Paramount Plus later this month.
Beavis and Butt-Headfirst became famous during the'90s as one of MTV’s most popular cartoons, part of a batch that also includedDaria,The Maxx,Migraine Boy, and evenAeon Flux. However, for a while now creator Mike Judge has entertained the possibility of the pair getting a second revival. After all,Beavis and Butt-Head’s last season came out on MTV in 2011, with recent rumors suggesting a new streaming run could follow, though that will come after the raunchy friends’ second feature film.

The premise for theParamount Plusmovie seems as simple and absurd as the series always was. Following both guys after the events of their first movie,Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, the duo is now sentenced to “space camp” as per the film’s synopsis. Naturally, it doesn’t take long for these two to get in trouble after they somehow manage to go to space and then time travel all the way to 2022, where these relics clearly don’t fit in with modern times. That said, neither do their alien-like versions for that matter, but fans will have to wait until the film drops on Paramount Plus on June 23.
The humor looks pretty much on point, as it’s practically what anyone would expect out of these two. As to be expected, there are as many 69 jokes as possible being crammed into the self-labelled dumbest sci-fi movie ever made. ThatBeavis and Butt-Headremain so tightly boundto their style is no surprise seeing as Judge returns to write, direct, and star in his movie, reprising his iconic voices for both Beavis and Butt-Head, and, rest assured, Cornholio too.
The rest of the cast is rounded off with plenty of comedic talent from the likes of Gary Cole, Chris Diamantopoulos, Nat Faxon, David Herman, Brian Huskey, Chi McBride and Tig Notaro, all in still undisclosed roles.Besides the newBeavis and Butt-Headmovieon the way, Paramount Plus also has brand-new episodes for the series coming out later this year and every old entry being added to its library along with those.
What makesBeavis and Butt-Headso iconic is how the duo always works as a great vehicle for social commentary through satire, which is possibly why it’s Judge’s favorite work. Still, for those with a slightly different taste, Judge is also working ona newKing of the Hillreboot, but they might have to wait longer for that one.
Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universewill premiere exclusively on Paramount Plus on July 30, 2025.
