Ever since Shi No Numa, the third Zombies map ever released by Treyarch, fans ofCall of DutyZombies have heard the iconic “fetch me their souls” dialogue every 6 rounds or so. While an updated version of Shi No Numa is rumored to be arriving inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 2, the dogs introduced in the classic map already exist in the latest version of Zombies. Sporting a gruesome new look and leaving poison behind them after death, the plaguehounds are a bit more threatening than their hellhound ancestors.

Despite this, the players searching for a remaining shred of cuteness from the mutated dogs can still find it, as it is entirely possible to pet the beasts. Like Die Maschine’sCoffin Dance easter egg, plaguehound petting is surprisingly easy to do, as players will only need to secure the Brain Rot Pack-A-Punch upgrade. From there, a plaguehound needs to be left alive until the end of the round, with players turning the last survivor of the undead waves to their side using brain rot.
From there, players can pet to their heart’s content, though only for the next several seconds. As shown in a brief tutorial video from YouTuber MrRoflWaffles,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfans will only get a little bit of time to bond with their friendly plaguehound before it explodes.
