Early access players toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2have been running through the latest campaign, though many have found a few bugs that impede progress. While not officially releasing for another few days,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign is currently available earlyfor those who pre-order any digital version. The story continues the story from the 2019 title, bringing back familiar faces like Captain Price, Ghost, and Soap, while continuing to add more faces including Alejandro Vagras.
However, the early access has made it clear for many players that there are more than a few rough edges to deal with. While Infinity Ward is preparing a day one patch forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s official launch, players have been reporting numerous issues they’ve come across during the campaign so far. Some are relatively harmless visual glitches, but many have discovered progress blocking bugs or aModern Warfare 2download issuethat are harder to resolve.

The latest bug comes from the officialCall of DutysubReddit by a user named -Kageoni_ where their progress on the Borderline mission comes to a screeching halt. After getting caught by the local police, the player puts their weapon away and raises their arms to comply with the directions. Oddly enough, their NPC partner continues to move forward, gun raised, like nothing is happening. As the player approaches the officers, they continue to yell as if the player has not yet done what they asked. Awkwardly looking back and forth, it’s clear the game is stuck as no progression has been made.
As such, -Kageoni_ does a quick checkpoint load and sadly, the same actions play out, resulting in the progression getting stuck once again at the same spot. Players attempt to offer suggestions, including multiple people telling -Kageoni_ to wait a bit longer before giving up and reloadingtheCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2campaignlevel checkpoint. However, it appears that -Kageoni_ attempted to do that off camera, confirming that the behavior didn’t end up changing and things continued to freeze in place.
Even though theModern Warfare 2campaign has become a hit on Steam, it seems these campaign bugs and glitches are really hampering progress for many players. Other users took the opportunity to post similar issues with many complaining about campaign breaking problems in the mission called Alone. Things from checkpoints not working, NPCs getting in the way of progressing, and even more extreme issues like players spawning with limited ammo and the enemies all becoming aware of the player at the same time.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2early Campaign Access is available now for all pre-orders, and the full game launches on October 28 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
