Warzone 2andModern Warfare 2fans have been complaining about the game’s flashbang grenades for a while now. While they’re meant to blind the player in the game temporarily, the bright white flash has been enough to cause real-world discomfort for anyone who happens to be playing in a dark room. Some fans will thus be relieved to learn thatCall of Duty: Warzone 2andModern Warfare 2’s Season 2 Reloadedintroduces a new “Inverted Flash” setting, which addresses the problem when enabled from the games interface menu.

Beenox showed how the setting works in a short video shared on Twitter. The clip shows aModern Warfare 2playerenabling Inverted Flash and throwing a flashbang grenade at their feet. Usually, this would turn the screen completely white for a second before fading back in. Instead, the inverted flash setting makes the screen go completely black. It then fades in part of the way before switching to a white effect until the flashbang wears off completely. This should prevent the in-game weapon from blinding players in real life, as long as they remember to turn it on.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2andModern Warfare 2are not the first games to feature something like this, withBattlefield 2042offering the same thing as one of its accessibility options. SomeWarzone 2players have also been asking for this feature for some time. While it’s unclear if Raven Software and Beenox noticed these requests, many fans on Twitter seemed pleased with the decision. No doubt their eyeballs will also be quite happy with the change.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
