Call of Duty Warzonehas becomeCall of Duty: Warzone Pacific, and with the branding change came the introduction of the new Caldera map. Players are re-learning the game, as Caldera makes for a major shift compared toWarzone’s Verdansk. With that in mind, theCall of Duty: Warzonecommunity is calling for Raven Software to add a key missing feature. That request is for a gun range that allowsCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers to test weapons out.
A gun range is a feature thatCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers have asked for for over a year, but have never received an official statement on. A gun range would be a training mode players could select any weapon and accessory combination to see how it feels to shoot and how much relative damage it deals. Gun ranges typically feature targets of varying health, including the health of opposing players, soweapon “Time To Kill” can be easily measured and tested.

On Redditor captured his frustration over the current state ofCall of Duty: Warzonequite well, telling other players that they’re “tired of picking up 25 different kinds of weapons and having no idea if they are full auto, single shot, or burst weapons.” This accurately captures a coreissue withCall of Duty: Warzonefor players who don’t have veteran-level experience with the battle royale. Players can only continue playing, hoping that they retain familiarity with the game’s weapons round to round. There’s no meaningful option for researching the subject in-game.
Gun ranges aren’t an uncommon feature in battle royales. For example, bothApex LegendsandPUBG Battlegroundsboth have the kind of gun range thatCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers are asking for. One player says that ifMetal Gear Solid: Peace Walkercan manage a gun range, thenCall of Duty: Warzone, with all of the resources it has available, should be able to have one as well.
To be fair toCall of Duty: Warzone, it does have three tutorial options for players to use to help new players get acclimated to the experience. There’s aWarzoneOrientation mission that introduces basic mechanics, a Mission: Battle Royale Practice that populates a map with enemy bots, and a Plunder Orientation specifically forPlunder mode’s mechanics.
IfCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers do want to see a gun range added to the game eventually, now’s a good time to letRaven Softwareand Activision know. With the launch of the Pacific update, it’s possible Raven will be looking to the community for what should come next.
