It’s a general rule of thumb that no matter how much a game’s issues are patched out, players will always find new ones hiding in the woodwork.Call of Duty: Warzonehas already seenits fair share of glitchesin the two months it’s been out, so it shouldn’t be all too surprising that another one has been found. Luckily, it shouldn’t be an issue for much longer.
With the big update that Infinity Ward released for bothWarzoneandCall of Duty: Modern Warfareon May 18, the game has received a slew of new content to carry players through the rest of Season 3, as well ascryptic teases for Season 4. But players have reported experiencing a number of new issues since then, including connection problems. Amid all of this, players are taking notice of a bug that, in a certain case, prevents them from doing one of the most important things they can do in the game: reload their weapon.

This problem was first spotted by prominentFaZe Clanmember Austin “Pamaj” Pamajewon, who shared footage of the HDR sniper rifle repeatedly failing to reload as he played. What’s strange is that the reload animation plays out as normal, yet throughout the clip, Pamajewon’s bullet count never goes above the single shot he has left.
He’s not the onlyWarzoneplayer who’s had to deal with this specific issue. In a reply to Pamajewon’s clip, Call of Duty League caster Clint “Maven” Evans said he’s experienced this glitch too, and that it seems to have something to do with players using thereload speed-increasing Sleight of Hand perkwith the HDR. He then added that since switching to the weapon’s extended 7-round magazines, he hasn’t experienced the reload bug that much.
While it sounds like there are easy ways to avoid this issue, the fact remains that it’s a bug that could still mess things up forHDRplayers who aren’t in the know. The good news, however, is that Joe Cecot, Infinity Ward co-design director of multiplayer, replied to Evans and stated that the studio’s been on the case and has managed to reproduce the bug “in a [developer] environment.” This means it was able to isolate the problem and figure out what was causing it.
Given that, it’s very well possible that Infinity Ward could get a fix out as soon as the next update forCall of Duty: Warzone, which, given the frequency of recent updates, could be released by next week. That way, HDR players hopefully won’t have to worry about their gun not working right going into Season 4.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
