Call of Duty: Warzonehas had a wide variety of notable technical issues since the launch of the Pacific update. The combination of a new map launch, low morale due to Activision Blizzard controversies, COVID, and a strike by Raven Software QA developers built a wave of technical issues forCall of Duty: Warzone’s developers to fix. One of the most prominent issues, freezes tied toWarzone’s Buy Stations, does seem to be making progress, however.
In a message from currentCall of Duty: WarzonedeveloperRaven Software, “major improvements” have recently been made to the battle royale that should reduce problems with Buy Stations. Specifically, Raven says that it’s been focusing on players' games freezing when they attempt to use a Buy Station, as if their PC or console overloaded trying to open the Buy Station menu. The exact nature of the issue isn’t mentioned, nor is how it was solved.

One big note shared as part of the message, though, is that theBuy Station problemhasn’t been fully fixed. Raven admits that it’s still seeing thatCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers are experiencing freezes when using Buy Stations. It still described the reduction of freezes as significant, but what that means is unclear. It could beWarzoneplayers will rarely if ever experience the Buy Station freezes. It could also mean that players will still experience the problem regularly.
Raven still has the Buy Station freezing bug as a problem on the studio’sTrello board forCall of Duty: Warzone. It’s listed as under investigation, the same as it’s been since it was added to the Trello on January 4. All platforms remain under investigation, as well. There is no timeframe available for when Raven will have a complete fix for the Buy Station bug, but clearly, the team is working on it.
There are several other ongoing issues that Raven continues to work on listed on its Trello. There’s a scheduled fix planned for ongoing PlayStation performance issues, as well as a fix for the Inverted Mouse setting on PC. Issues currently under investigation includeXbox performance problems, invisible skins, broken weapon models, and bizarre artifacts for weapons and Operator models.
Raven certainly has its work cut out for itself. If there was an easy answer to correctingCall of Duty: Warzone’s many issues, it’d be done by now. Unfortunately, many of the organizational problems that contributed to the state ofWarzoneappear to be impacting development. Raven management has even refused to acknowledge itsQA team’s efforts to unionize. The Buy Station issue may be improved, but there’s still so much left to do.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
