Darrington Press, theofficial publication branch company forCritical Role, has been busy in 2023. This year alone, Darrington Press has announced multiple board games and role-playing systems it is actively developing.

Now,Critical Rolehas confirmed it has another project planned for release before the year is out.Caper Cards: Bells Hellsis a new card game inspired by the Bells Hells–theDungeons and Dragonsparty forCritical Role Campaign 3–and their heist of the Twilight Mirror Museum early on in the story. The cooperative card game plays like blackjack with special rules and powers and has players try to collect as much treasure as possible without breaking 21. This newCritical Rolecard game will be available this October for only $15.

Caper Cards: Bells Hellsfeatures the main cast of the Campaign crew, plus Dorian, the long-termCritical Roleguest character played by Robbie Daymond. The different Crew members have special powers that can give players the chance to win big, and 10 unique Reward cards can change the course of the game. There is also a massive value Risk card featuring Ruidus, thered moonCritical Rolefans have come to fear in Campaign 3. Each card features stylized, original art of the beloved characters of Critical Role as well.

This new card game is quick; each round lasts about 20 minutes, and it can be played solo or with up to four players. Though the board game itself isCritical Rolethemed, players do not need to have any knowledge of the show to actually enjoy it, making it a potentially good gift for fans of board games, card games, or heist movies alike.

Darrington Press is also working on two other board games right now:Queen by MidnightandGuardians of Matrimonia. The former is a princess-themeddeckbuilding gamewhere players engage in a literal battle royale to become the next queen, and the latter is a cooperative game where players work together to plan and throw the ultimate high fantasy wedding.Queen by Midnightis available for $70 during and after Gen Con this August, andGuardians of Matrimoniais planned to release sometime in early 2024, the price of whichCritical Rolehas not yet revealed.
