WhileDestiny 2has seen plenty of weapons sunset and brought back over the years with the sandbox changes, some players are specifically asking Bungie to bring back a player favorite from Season of the Dawn - Trophy Hunter. The introduction of a seasonal pass inSeason of the Undyingsaw pass-exclusive weapons come with it, serving as an incentive for players to purchase the pass and rank up for these weapons. The list of weapons has run the gamete from SMGs, swords, and rocket launchers, but it appears players are specifically looking at Season of the Dawn’s massive sniper rifle to rejoin the weapons sandbox.
The current season insideDestiny 2, titled Season of the Seraph, saw plenty of new and reprised weapons added for players to grind for across the new seasonal content and core activities. Examples of the former include the Hung Jury SR4 scout rifle inside Nightfalls, the Rose hand cannon for competing in the updated competitive PvP playlist, and the Ikelos weapons first introduced in Warmind. As for what is brand new, there is a swath of weapons available to earn in the new seasonal activity and the first set of legendary weapons from the Tex Mechanica weapon foundry inside the new Spire of the Watcher dungeon.

Spire of the Watcher’s loot pool also includes two reprised weapons in theSeventh Seraph Carbineand Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver, both of which can be crafted after unlocking the respective patterns. As mentioned above, though, some players are getting vocal about bringing Trophy Hunter back into the game as they feel it remains one of the more underrated weapons fromDestiny 2’s massive armory. Reddit user 70seven is among these players asking for Trophy Hunter to be brought back, along with its Zaroff’s Prized Longbore ornament.
70seven’s opinion is one shared by several other users in their thread, adding they would be excited to see the sniper rifle brought back at some point. Some users added to this, saying they would like to see the Pyroclastic Flow rocket launcher and the rest of the Sundial weapons fromSeason of the Dawnbrought back. Other weapons users mentioned in the comments they’d like to see brought back include Pluperfect from Season of the Undying and the original Leviathan raid weapons, with a common reason being the physical designs of the weapons.
It isn’t out of the question for any of these weapons to come back in an upcoming season or expansion, either, given how much content Bungie is producing regularly. Some weapons in the upcomingLightfallexpansion have already been identified as re-skins of the Lunar weapons fromShadowkeep, while Bungie has only teased some of the new weapons players will be able to get their hands on. Trophy Hunter and a variety of other weapons could ultimately end up being included, but only time will tell what Bungie decided to pull from the vault.
