This shot quickly gained memetic popularity, to the point where even people who had never played aWitchergame were familiar with it. The trailer for Netflix’sThe WitcherTV show even included a reference to that moment from the game.

Bungie announced the launch ofDestiny 2’sThe Witchercrossover in ablog post. Featured inthe game’s Season of the Wish content, it includes an armor set for eachDestiny 2class, a new ship, a new Ghost shell, and a new Sparrow. The post provided a breakdown of each item, including some insight into Bungie’s creative process. However, the studio also included a little treat for fans who read all the way to the bottom, revealing a new Tub Time emote based on theWitcher 3meme.
The price of soggy armor isn’t cheap, however, as the Tub Time emote costs a hefty 1,200 Silver onDestiny 2’s Eververse store. That’s slightly more than the 1,100 Silver players get from the $9.99 bundle, meaning players with no Silver will have to buy the more expensive 1,700 SIlver pack for $14.99.
The Guardian who’s showcasing the emote is wearing the Titan class’s new Kaer Morhen armor set. It gets its name from the Witcher stronghold, and Bungie based its design on Geralt’s iconic Viper School Gear fromThe Witcher 3. Hunters can instead equip the White Wolf set, which combines the Hunter’s hood and cape with elements from Geralt’s Legendary Wolven armor set. Finally, Warlocks are getting the new Hexter set based onThe Witcher 3’s Legendary Ursine armor.
All three of theWitcher-inspired armor sets inDestiny 2’s Season of the Wishinclude Geralt’s iconic dual longswords on the Guardian’s back. While these are purely cosmetic, Bungie explained how it went to great lengths to make them look real. The same applies to the small cosmetic crossbow on the Hunter’s thigh, with Bungie explaining how the studio collaborated with CD Projekt Red to improve the design.
Another shared element across all three armor sets is the asymmetrical gouges and scarring on the Guardian’s helmets, evoking the image of Geralt’s scarred and grizzled face. They likewise all make heavy use of leather, chainmail, and fur while preserving each oftheDestiny 2class’sunique silhouettes.
