That said, players have discovered one more reason to beupset withDiablo 4’s in-game store. Redditor andDiablo 4fan Coderuss recently shared an image pointing out a huge problem with the Platinum coin bundles in the Canadian version of the cash shop. At first glance, the biggest bundle in the store seems to be the most valuable, but upon taking a closer look, Coderuss realized that players were better off buying a smaller bundle instead.
OtherDiablo 4players did the math and discovered exactly how many coins Canadian players get per CAD they spend on these bundles:
This discrepancy seems to be primarily because of the conversion rates between USD and CAD. For US players, the values seem to be as advertised; the first three bundles all give 100 coins per dollar, and the larger ones give an additional 12, 14, and 15 coins per dollar respectively. It wouldn’t be the first timeBlizzard’s cash shop prices were messed up in some countries, so chances are someone on theDiablo 4team got some numbers wrong while converting the shop costs over to CAD.
Needless to say, this detail did little to ingratiateplayers towards theDiablo 4cash shop. Some players wondered how the metrics got so messed up just by converting the currency over, while others pondered who would actually spend over $100 on cosmetics in a game they already spend $70 just to buy. Either way, everyone agreed that any player interested in buying from theDiablo 4in-game store should think twice and do the math before doing so–especially if their shop is in a currency other from USD.
Diablo 4is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
