It is no secret thatDeadpool & Wolverineis packed with references. Following the release of a new trailer,Twitter user Multiverso Marvel (@multiversombr)spotted an intriguing parallel in one of the fight scenes between the two heroes. In the scene where Wolverine is launching attacks at Deadpool while the latter dodges them all, there is a sense of déjà vu. As pointed out by the user, it mirrors a scene from the 2002Spider-Manmovie, where Peter Parker skillfully dodges the attacks of his school bully, Flash Thompson.

It is definitely a subtle detail that might escape the notice of many viewers who do not pay close attention. Notably, only a few caught it. Although there is no established connection between the superhero duo and Spider-Man, or at least that is widely speculated, it adds a layer of fun and intrigue to the scene. Additionally, the trailer cleverly incorporated references tothe histories of both superheroes, nods to the wider Marvel franchise, mentions of other Marvel superheroes, and even nods to elements outside the franchise.

The movie will continue the timeline of theDeadpoolfranchise, following Ryan Reynolds' journey as Wade Wilson into the MCU. In his third movie within the MCU, Deadpool will team up with Wolverine, with Hugh Jackman reprising his role. This film is set to becomea crucial part of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, as Deadpool traverses between universes, transitioning from Fox’sX-Menfranchise timeline to various locations already explored in previous MCU movies and shows. As a result,Deadpool & Wolverineis one of the most highly anticipated upcoming movies in the MCU.The film is expected to include numerous cameos, although not all have been confirmed. Some confirmed appearances include Vanessa Carlysle (played by Morena Baccarin), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), and even Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) and Dopinder (Karan Soni). Additionally, two new characters will be introduced:Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin)and Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen).

Deadpool & Wolverineis currently scheduled for theatrical release on June 12, 2025.
