Just last week,Bandai Namco finally revealed the release dateofDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’sDLC 2, which is available now. Alongside the DLC’s release, the publisher has just debuted a brand new trailer giving players a quick preview of what to expect inDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’ssecond DLC expansion.
DLC 2 is officially titled A New Power Awakens - Part 2, and as its name clearly suggests, it isa continuation of DLC 1, which was released by Bandai Namco in April. According to the publisher, DLC 2 will feature a boss battle episode where Goku and Vegeta gear up for Frieza’s return, who is now in his Golden Frieza form. Both Goku and Vegeta will also showcase their control over God Ki when they transform to Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, giving both characters a new set of fighting techniques.

Moreover, Bandai Namco’s lead producer, Ryosuke Hara, revealed via the PlayStation Blog that while DLC 2’s climax revolves aroundthe battle with Golden Frieza, players will spend most of their time training Goku and Vegeta to awaken their Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan transformation. Additionally, Hara revealed that whileDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’sDLC 2 is based on the movie’s setting, it will still feature its own original story that matches everything established in the base game.
Apart from the battle with Golden Frieza, DLC 2 will also introduce a new feature called Horde Battle. In this new feature, players will fight against a massive number of enemies, and the reason why Bandai Namco included this inDragon Ball Z: Kakarotis to reproduce the “desperate battle against the Frieza Army.” However, for Bandai Namco to recreate the battle from the original works, the studio had to adjust the enemy AI, SFX, and skills to make it more fun to play.
Meanwhile, for those players wondering what is next forDragon Ball Z: Kakarotafter DLC 2, Hara confirmed on the PlayStation Blog thatthe next and final DLC expansionis still undergoing development. The next DLC is also set to feature a brand new story arc, but its release date is still a mystery. However, Hara concluded his post on the PlayStation Blog by reassuring fans that more info on the nextDragon Ball Z: KakarotDLC will be released sometime in 2021.
