Summary

AnElden Ringplayer has discovered an amusing technique to cheese the Great-Jar Challenge. FromSoftware fans have a long-running tradition of figuring out loopholes to win battles and challenges with minimal effort, otherwise known as “cheesing.” One such challenge inElden Ringinvolves the Great-Jar, a colossal stationary jar in the poison-laced Caelid region.

Reaching the Great-Jar is no small feat, as it requires players to navigate the labyrinth of the Siofra River network. Upon reaching it, the Jar offers up a trial where the player must defeat three Knights of the Great-Jar, without resting at a Site of Grace or leaving the area, toearn the Great-Jar’s Arsenal Talisman, which increases carrying capacity by 19%. What’s interesting about these enemies is that their builds differ depending on the player’s online status. Online players face knights wielding randomized equipment sets mirroring those of other players, whereas offline players encounter knights with predetermined builds.

The Great-Jar Challenge, then, can be quite the headache, especially for online players who have no way of predicting what they’ll be up against. However, a user known as DaddyWhoGames on Reddit has discovered a clever exploit, allowing them to bypass the intended challenge and finish it in record time. The intended way to overcome the Great-Jar Challenge is through direct combat, conquering each Knight with equal parts skill and luck. However, the resourceful player has figured out a refreshingly simple tactic that’s a far cry from some of the more elaboratemethods to cheese otherElden Ringbosses.

The Knights Can Easily Be Tricked into Falling to Their Deaths

The cheese strategy’s beauty lies in its straightforward nature, as it simply involves luring a Knight towards the edge of a nearby cliff. The Knight gets stuck against the wall barricading the player into the area, and then all the player has to do is throw a dagger at the enemy and then drop to a protruding section of the cliff face. The Knight will continually attack until it shifts forwards and falls to its death. The player repeated this cheese tactic for the rest of the challenge, and finished it in a matter of minutes.Elden Ringcheese tactics do go terribly wrongsometimes, but this was a resounding success.

The comments marveled at the discovery of the exploit, with many wishing that they knew of the cheese tactic during their playthroughs. One commenter remarked that the challenge took them four to five hours to finish, with others stating that they fell to the Knights countless times. However, as one person pointed out, the tactic falls short if the enemies have certainElden Ringweapons like Mohg’s Spearand the Founding Rain of Stars, which can hit the player on the lower section of the cliff. Minor caveat aside, the tactic is clever and easy to execute, and will no doubt come in handy for those who want the Talisman.
