As may be obvious, the New Life Festival is based on the real-life holiday of Christmas with elements pulled from other major Winter Holidays from non-Abrahamic religions. It’s a celebration of the year being reborn as the calendar year comes to an end as atradition started by the Bretons.

Plus, there’s no more fitting holiday to live up a littleSkyrimnostalgia in the wintery surroundings of the Nord homeland.
Players Get Double XP During The Whole Event
One of the biggest appeals of the New Life Festival inElder Scrolls Onlineis the massive XP buff given to every player while the event is running. When logged intoESOduring the fest all players get double XP gains for doing nothing.

It’s a fantastic time to get a secondary character leveled as the journey to Lvl 50 gets practically cut in half. There is a Mug that can be earned as part of an event-specific questline, too, which further increases XP gain by 100% for a limited time on use. It’s a collectible memento, so it can be re-used during the event to maintain a constant 300% XP rate.
Furnishings, Unique Items, Pets, And Cosmetics Are Bought With Event Tickets…
Events inElder Scrolls Onlineare a great time to stock up on unique items. Whether they be pets, mounts,cosmetics like furniture, or other unique items, everyESOevent has something for players to collect that isn’t available at other times of the year.
During the New Life Festival players can exchange their Event Tickets for a prize of their choice from an Impresario. These vendors are typically just found outside major hub cities, like Faction capitals, Vivec in Vvardenfell, or Leyawiin in Blackwood.
…Which Are Earned By Completing New Life Festival Daily Quests
The New Life Festival isn’t all about merriment and loose celebration – there are plenty of tasks that the Vestige can take on to be able to earn more New Life Festival rewards. These quests are picked up from Breda, the main NPC of the event who is found in the Eastmarch tent. This area serves as the New Life Festival hub, at least for Dailies.

Dailies include a variety of challenges spread out throughout Tamriel. Each one can be completed once each day during the event, and each grants Event Tickets upon completion that can be used with the New Life Festival Impresario.
It Includes Once-a-Year New Life Festival Crafting Writs
One of the most highly-anticipated aspects of any event inElder Scrolls Onlineare the new temporary crafting writs. These are great ways toquickly level up Skillson alt characters, but they are worth taking on in general for both the Skill rewards and the Writ Vouchers that come with each completed writ.
These Writ Vouchers can be used to buy unique furniture, recipes, crafting plans, and crafting motifs from specific vendors in each city. Players hoard materials for weeks in anticipation of completing as many of these as possible, so buying materials outright is not recommended as prices are generally increased.
The Crown Store Offers A Selection Of Unique Items, Too
The Crown Store offers special items during everyElder Scrolls Onlineevent, and the New Life Festival is no exception. One of the best new options is the New Life Furniture Pack which comes withdozens of wintery furnishingslike Ice Sculptures, Snowmen, Wreaths, Fireplaces, and other warming decorations.
Mounts and special pets are also available during the New Life Fest. For 2021 this includes the Frost Mare and the Frost Atronach Pony, both icy Horses that are only available during the event. Keep in mind that these items are not bought with in-game currency and players must purchase Crowns with real money to get any of these Crown Store specials.
The 2021 New Life Festival Ends On June 11, 2025
The New Life Festival is one of the game’s longest-running festivals at just about two weeks in total. It started in 2021 in mid-December and will end on July 10, 2025. That gives players plenty of time to complete dailies, collect Event Tickets, complete Writs, and enjoy the festival to its fullest.
The New Life Festival is a great time to return toElder Scrolls Onlineas you will seemore players than normalroaming Tamriel – this in turn means faster Dungeon queues, more people to group up with in world content, and a generally more populated feeling to the game’s vast world.
