One of Square Enix’s most popularFinal Fantasytitles,Final Fantasy 7, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Though most of the fanbase is likely excited about news of the upcomingpart 2 of theFinal Fantasy 7Remake, some still go back to the game’s roots and replay the old title. Recently, a fan shared that they compiled a bunch of glitches from the originalFF7game, showing how the party’s powerful Limit Break moves can conk out during a specific fight.
In theFinal Fantasyfranchise,Limit Breaks first appeared inFinal Fantasy 7. Many titles in the franchise followed suit, borrowing and using the term in games likeFF8,FF9,FF10, and so on. InFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, Limit Breaks are essentially still the same in that players need to fill up a bar before they can execute the move. However, the remake does change up the total number of these moves and how the player acquires them throughout the game.

On Reddit, user Expert_Jury9098 shared a compilation video they created of all the Limit Break glitches they found in the originalFinal Fantasy 7game. Viewers will likely be surprised to see that the video is four minutes long. The footage takes place during theFinal Fantasy 7Emerald Weapon fight. Players will probably recall Emerald Weapon as one of the tough bosses that can be fought during the last portion of the game. In the video, the noticeable glitches involve the characters’ Limit Breaks repeating themselves over and over again or the characters spinning around while they are executing their moves.
Comments on the Reddit thread found humor in Expert_Jury9098’s compilation video, considering how funny it is to see theFinal Fantasy 7charactersrepeating their Limit Break moves or spinning without any reason. Others were curious how the Redditor was able to get the glitches to happen. One commenter speculated that it was because of Emerald Weapon’s counterattack called Revenge Stamp. However, Expert_Jury9098 has yet to reply to any of the comments to provide clarity on how they were able to get the game to work that way in their footage.
Given that Emerald Weapon can only be encountered in the latter part ofFinal Fantasy 7, fans should prepare to wait before they can face off with its remake trilogy version. What’s more, no details about whereFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s storywill end have been revealed yet, so it is possible that these tough bosses will be only included in the 3rd part of the trilogy.
Final Fantasy 7is playable on PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PS4, and Xbox One.
