During a recent interview withSFX Magazine, Bennett, a creature designer for the upcomingFive Nights at Freddy’smovie, discredited fan criticisms regarding the appearance of the movie’s animatronic characters. Bennett acknowledged that the majority of feedback had been overwhelmingly positive. “Everything I’ve seen has been superpositive. I know there was a big to-do about the red eyes in the poster, but once again, that’s one of the fan lore things that I didn’t even know about,” he said.
He also specifically mentioned one fan who said they wanted to see real animatronics instead of computer-generated images after watching aFive Nights At Freddy’s trailer. “I watched a couple of YouTube reaction videos to the trailer. This one guy was like, ‘It looks great, but I just wish they’d show the actual animatronics, it’s all CG,'” Bennet recalled. Contrary to fan criticisms, theFNAFdesigner clarified that the film’s animatronic characters were created using costumes and not digitally improved, as some speculated. Bennett said, “Well, no, it was all our costumes. Everything in that trailer is our costumes and nothing was touched up with digital. So it’s fun that the fans appreciate how accurate they are.”
The movie seesHutcherson portraying Mike Schmidt, who takes up a job as a security guard at a haunted pizza place and arcade. TheFiveNightsatFreddy’smovie will incorporate elements from later games and the expansive lore, introducing the menacing animatronic Springtrap. In theFiveNightsatFreddy’sgame, Springtrap stalked the player at the eerie Fazbear Fright location. By including Springtrap, the film will delve into the franchise’s dark origins, shedding light on the blood-stained history.
