When it comes to Marvel,Fortnite’s list of tie-in promotions stretches back to Season 8, when Black Widow and Star-Lord first found their way onto the Island.
Over the years, many more Marvel heroes and villains were added toFortnite, with the X-Men getting plenty of love as of late through skins of Gambit, Rogue, Mystique, and more recentlyMagneto in a new Wastlander costume. No list of famous X-Men characters would be complete without Wolverine, and Logan was first brought intoFortniteduring Chapter 2, Season 4 back in 2020. So far, he has several different outfits to choose from, including his famous yellow-and-blue and orange-and-brown outfits from the comics, a white tank top and jeans that he would more commonly wear in the Fox-producedX-Menmovies, and the eye-patch-wearing, sword-wielding “Wolverine Zero” variant.
Recent rumors have suggested that Epic is adding Wolverine’s infamous Weapon X outfit to itsgrowing list of MarvelFortniteskins, and notedFortniteleakerShiinathinks it could be coming as early as July 5. According to them, the Weapon X skin will be part of a set of five unlockable cosmetic items, though the details of what else might be included are still unclear. Fellow leakerHYPEXbelieves the Weapon X skin could come even earlier, with a list of supposedFortniteItem Shop release dates marking an “X-Men” related item being made available sometime between June 28 and July 2.

The Weapon X outfit is one of theWolverine’s most noteworthy looks, as it ties back to his origins as a twisted experiment by the government to create the perfect killing machine with a skeleton infused with Adamantium and purely feral instincts. The Weapon X storyline has been retold in several movies and video games, while the look itself served as an alternate costume for Wolverine in games likeX-Men LegendsandUltimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Of course, even Shiina and HYPEX admit that their rumored release dates for theWolverine Weapon XFortniteskincould be subject to change, but both sources believe that it will be made available sometime early next month. Weapon X isn’t the only rumoredFortnite/Marvel crossover either, as it has been suggested that Chapter 5, Season 4 could see the return of the planet-devouring Galactus. However, none of this has been officially confirmed by Epic as of this writing.
