Beer pong is now playable inFortnitethanks to a nifty creatorusing Creative 2.0. The popular party game known as beer pong originated in American college campuses during the 1950s and has players trying to toss small ping pong balls into their opponents cups on the opposite end of a table which are filled with beer, liquor, or water.Epic’s ever-popular, crossover-stuffed battle royaleFortnite, which rose to fame in 2017, isn’t just a battleground over victory royales. The live service world ofFortniteis also a platform for players to exercise their creativity with the game’s robust and detailed map editor. InFortnite’s recently launched Creative 2.0, which gives users access to Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 tools, creators can earn revenue based on how many players engage with their created maps, modes, and worlds.RELATED:Destiny 2’s Most Divisive Mode Has Been Recreated In FortniteDexerto posted a short 30-second video on Twitter of aFortnitemap made by a creator named CodeD3V. The map is a simple backyard-style summer setup with lawn chairs, umbrellas, and barrels ofFortnite’s blue slurp juice. In the clip, a player’s character sits in a Baller vehicle which hangs by a cable attached to a bar above the folding table. The Baller, with the player inside, swings forward and detaches, allowing the player to aim mid-air to land in one of the opponent’s cups filled with water. Upon dropping into the cup the player scores a point as the character itself dies and respawns in a new Baller to take another turn.
It appears thatthisFortnitemodelets players take their shots simultaneously, as another player in a Baller was whizzing by the player as they were swinging through the air. Judging by the UI this game mode seems to be five rounds long, with each round lasting for about five minutes, and each player having a score counter of 10 points per round to achieve. With both contenders playing at the same time it’s unlikely that common beer pong practices such as re-racking remaining cups or redemption rounds are at play. Additionally, it looks like players have the ability to redeploy the rope if they’re rolling around the rim of a cup to help secure the point.
CodeD3V’sFortnitemap seems like a fun, arcade-style competition for players to partake in when they’re tired of hunting victories in battle royale. WithFortnite’s Creative 2.0upping the ante for many players on the platform, there’s no knowing what kind of fun maps and modes creators will be able to cook up in the future.
Fortniteis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
