A gamer has created a uniqueGame Boy Advancemade entirely out of LEGOs. The designer of the item posted a video of the building process, which showed the Game Boy being put together brick by brick. According to the video, the Game Boy is not just for show, but is actually completely functional, making it quite an innovate piece of work.

The Retro Stash Repairs YouTube channel posted the video, and it is run by Miguel, the YouTuber who built the LEGOGame Boy Advance. Miguel’s channel specializes in repairing retro consoles and electronics, and it features several videos on how to fix various parts of Game Boy Advance, SP, and Micro, as well as other game systems such as Tamagotchis and Nintendo DS.

In the aforementioned video, Miguel demonstrates how heconstructed a Game Boy Advance SPcase using LEGOs. Instead of assembling the bricks traditionally, the YouTuber approached the project by gluing each piece together individually. Miguel then uses a small saw to trim the case to fit over the buttons and other hardware. Afterward, he installs the screen and motherboard from an actual GameBoy Advance. The YouTuber uses the thinnest LEGO pieces available to construct the casing to avoid making the case too bulky and to allow the L and R trigger buttons to still be usable.

The Retro Stash Repairs channel has similar videos; for example, one video shows the transformation of a Game Boy into a Sheikah Slate, a multipurpose tablet bearing the Crest of the Sheikah, which appears inThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Most of Miguel’s videos are repair videos, revealing the entire rebuilding process of various Game Boy versions that are broken due to water damage, faulty buttons, and dysfunctional lights.

Despite its seemingly simple appearance, the final product of the Game Boy Advance SP necessitates a considerable amount of hardware expertise, as shown by the process. According to Miguel in the video, the Game Boy Advance “playsand appears like an SP” because it contains the actual motherboard. Miguel goes on to say that one of the perks of his creation is the fact that more pieces of LEGOs can be built onto the case, creating a variety of new unique designs.

Although Miguel’s creation is intriguing and unique, it does have a few minor issues. For instance, when closing the Game Boy Advance, there is a small gap in the frame. In addition, since the hinges are constructed from LEGOs, the screen can fall backward. Nonetheless, it is a remarkable piece of custom-builthardware based on a Nintendo game consolethat has captured the attention of numerous viewers.
