With the release ofGenshin Impact’s Version 2.6 update coming soon, many fans of the game have already started looking ahead to the future of the massively popular RPG with characters being a particularly popular focal point. Leaks and datamines have already teased fans with a handful of characters set to come to the game like Shikanoin Heizou and Yelan, as well as implying re-runs for some ofGenshin Impact’s most popular existing characters like Kazuha. Now, Hoyoverse has officially revealed two characters set to join the game in the coming months.

Genshin Impactboasts a large community of dataminers and leakers with many of the game’s new characters and areas often being teased and revealed weeks or even months in advance of their release date. The upcoming Ayato Kamisato saw plenty of leaks related to the character’s gameplay and constellations and further leaks have revealed names and visuals of characters whose release could be several months away. Now, with 2.6 set to release on 30, fans are getting the first inkling of what’s to come inGenshin Impact’s Version 2.7 as Hoyoverse officially revealed Yelan and Kuki Shinobu.

Genshin Impactofficially revealed the two characters through the game’s official Twitter account Monday morning with Yelan and Kuki Shinobu seeing their first official art revealed. The first of these announcements introduces Yelan as a Hydro character acting as a member of Liyue Harbor’s Ministry of Civil Affairs, a prominent organization in the city.Yelan has been the subject of numerous leaksleading up to her reveal with data from the game’s beta testing revealing her as a Bow user and suggesting she may be more fitted to a Support role with low DPS.

While Kuki Shinobu hasn’t seen the same quantity of leaks as Yelan, she holds a connection to a particular character already introduced toGenshin’s roster. The announcement tweet introduces Shinobu as an Electro character acting as the deputy leader of the Arataki gang, the gangled byGenshin Impact’s Arataki Itto. Initial rumors about the two characters suggest that Yelan will release as a 5-star character and Shinobu will be a 4-star with the latter featuring alongside either Yelan or possibly a re-run banner during 2.7.

While characters are a major part of the leaking community with many new characters being teased far in advance, new areas and locales are also a major focus forGenshin Impact’s leaking community. The Chasm saw several leaks before its reveal and further leaks have suggested both anew region of Mondstadt coming soonand the highly-anticipated addition of the game’s fourth nation, Sumeru, likely during the summer. While many will likely change and shift before their inevitable release, 2022 is looking like an eventful second calendar year forGenshin Impact.
