Summary
AGenshin Impactplayer has created a video that overlays Fontaine City on other key locations to compare which ones are bigger. Given the scale of Teyvat inGenshin Impact, there are many massive parts of the map to explore, with Fontaine City being among the largest.
The firstGenshin Impactcity that players will discover is Mondstadt, and it offers several quests, vendors, and puzzles. Beyond Mondstadt, somecities have been added toGenshin Impactover time including Sumeru and Inazuma. The Fontaine region and its city were added toGenshin Impactwith update 4.0, and the city plays a key role in the Archon quests. Beyond the Archon quests,Genshin Impactplayers can also meet new characters and see live performances at the Opera Epiclese in Fontaine City. Being the latestGenshin Impactcity, some players are comparing it to others.

Reddit user Tawxif_iq recently shared a clip comparingGenshin Impact’s Fontaine Cityto Liyue Harbor, Mondstadt, Sumeru, and Inazuma. The video shows each of the cities, with a flickering visual overlap of Fontaine to highlight how much bigger the latter is. Because Fontaine City places so much emphasis on verticality, the place may be even more immense than the already smaller locations. When hovering over Liyue Harbor, Fontaine City encompasses the nearby Mount Tianheng, while taking up the entire island that Mondstadt resides on, plus adjacent water and additional landmass. Sumeru City combined with the Yazadaha Pool and Chinvat Ravine is nearly as big as Fontaine, with the overlap barely reaching Gandha Hill.
Comparing Fontaine and Inazuma cities seems apt based on Tawxif_iq’sGenshin Impactclip, as the size and shape are very similar. Inazuma City wasadded toGenshin Impactwith update 2.0, and at the time, it dwarfed locations like Mondstadt and clearly holds up next to Fontaine. The video concludes with the Fontaine overlap encapsulating all of Inazuma City and some of the ocean, but no nearby landmarks like the Byakko Plain or Amakane Island. BecauseGenshin Impacthas gotten cities like Inazuma and Fontaine from major updates, a future patch may drop an even bigger metropolis on the map.
Tawxif_iq’sGenshin Impactvideo gives players an idea of how wide of an area each city encompasses. Because it’s missing a height scale, the Fontaine City overlay fails to do thenewGenshin Impactlocationjustice by omitting its verticality. Given how it dwarfs the other areas in Tawxif_iq’s clip, exploringGenshin Impact’s Fontaine City may take more time than Liyue Harbor, Mondstadt, and Sumeru.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
