OneGod of Warfan has successfully added character models fromThe Simpsons: Hit and Runto the Norse mythology action RPG with a new mod.Twitter user NextGenPlayer recently shared multiple screenshots of the aforementionedSimpsonsGod of Warmod alongside a video highlighting the yellow characters exploring the realm of Midgard. The mod addsSimpsonscharacters like Homer, Bart, and Ned, though there may be even more that haven’t been shown off yet. Because of Homer’s long-running feud with Ned in theSimpsonsTV show, Ned is fittingly one of the primary enemies in the early game that plays a big role.RELATED:Video Compares God of War: Ragnarok’s 2021 Graphics to 2022The clip shared by NextGenPlayer shows the early moments ofGod of Warfocusing on Homer and Bart rather than Kratos and Atreus, though most of the enemies remain inspired by Norse mythology rather thanThe Simpsons. Homer and Bart come together to row their boat upstream, cremate and hold a funeral for Faye, battle the early boss known as Daudi Kaupmadr, and fend off the Stranger who encroaches on their land. Going beyond character models, Kratos has fittingly swapped hisLeviathan Axefor the Wonderbat fromThe Simpsons, though Bart is still notably using a bow and arrow rather than his trademark slingshot.
God of Warfans may be familiar with a part of the action RPG in which a Stranger shows up at Kratos' home and in NextGenPlayer’s video, the Stranger is played by the memorableSimpsonsneighbor, Ned. Just like in the base version ofGod of War, the epic battle between Homer and Ned ends with theSimpsonsfather narrowly escaping death as he defeats the supercharged Ned. Although the Stranger is later revealed to be theNorse God of Light Baldur, the mod replacing the character with Ned may take some emotional impact away from players that are new toGod of War.
Because theSimpsonsGod of Warmod usesHit and Runcharacter models in place of Kratos, Atreus, and the Stranger, NextGenPlayer’s video occasionally shows them clipping through the environment which may perturb some fans. Although PlayStation fans will miss out on thisGod of Warmod, PC players are already celebrating the addition of Homer and Bart to the latest installment in the series. It’s currently unclear if NextGenPlayer intends to expand how manySimpsonscharacters are included in the mod or if it will be limited to the ones included with the mod today.
