When it comes toupgrading the powerof Kratos inGod of War: Ragnarok, players will need to know the best Draupnir Spear handles, which ones are best utilized for the art of war, and those that can handle theprophecy of Ragnarok, and the full might of the Aesir.

Updated June 14, 2025, by Jake Fillery:With Kratos' arsenal expanding in God of War Ragnarok, it might benefit players to know the best Draupnir Spear attachments so that they can take the fight to Odin and Thor with little risk of Kratos' own demise. With the best Draupnir Spear handle, players will have an easier time navigating through the Nine Realms, and players can find the stats, upgrades, and locations of each Draupnir Spear handle in God of War Ragnarok, below.
The Hind of Attuned Elements focuses on Defense and Runic stats for Kratos, but the real beauty in this Spear Attachment is the perk which will blend well with fire and frost, allowing Kratos to use his Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos attacks to burn or frost enemies to deal bonus damage with the Draupnir Spear.

The bonus damage is nice, but it can be hard to pull off without proper rhythm, so some players might elect to look elsewhere for a Spear Handle that doesn’t require a synergy with a trio of weapons.
Soldier’s Sauroter doesn’t have a special ability, but it does have a mighty amount of stats that increase Kratos' overall potential for builds. Soldier’s Sauroter will increase Defense, Runic, Vitality, Cooldown, and Luck, allowing players to have a perfect marriage of stats with the Draupnir Spear to further increase their potential as the god of war.

Kratos can test his might with this Spear Handle, which boosts Kratos' Defense and Vitality stats to allow a better defense against attacks and a more tank-like attitude for getting hit. Great power lurks with this attachment, and Elemental Siphon is always a fun time thanks to its increased melee damage.
While the siphon element might fade after a short amount of time, it’s still fun to get an extended damage boost that will have Kratos feed his enemies his Spartan Rage without a worry in the world.

With this Sauroter focusing purely on Defense and Vitality, players can grab further defensive capabilities to aid them in difficult battles. The perk is rather nice too, as an R3 attack on a stunned enemy already deals a great amount of damage, so adding an additional Rage Burst to these attacks makes them even more rewarding when it comes to unlocking Kratos' Spartan Rage.
With theDetonator’s Might perk, players can detonate their thrown spears with a Moderate Luck chance to increase their Strength and Stagger Resistance, a great bonus for those that play tactically.

The only problem with this perk is that it relies on players throwing their spears, whereas some may prefer to simply slash and thrust their way through a fight. This perk means that they’ll have to use more ranged attacks than they may initially like.
Hind of Weightless Recovery has theMaelstrom Refreshperk, which will have players granted a Blessing of Cooldown based on their stats in Luck, and only when the Maelstrom gauge is fully charged.Thor wouldn’t stand a chancewith this.

The downside of this Hind is the fact that keeping the gauge full is hard, as one hit on Kratos and it depletes. However, cooldowns allow for runic attacks inGod of War: Ragnarokto be recharged, making the fight more in Kratos' favor.
Assisted by theStunning Blastperk, the Lion’s Roar Sauroter will allow players to have a greatly increased damage to Stun from the Gale Force skill, which is activated by holding L2 + R2 at the same time.

Not only is Stun great for building up a Stun grab, but the focus of this sauroter is Defense, which can grow well past 40 points, and keep Kratos and his defense at the top of its game.
Thanks to theSlicing Freshperk, players will be able to create a Concussive Wave at the end of their R2 Spear combo. This wave can create Stun, and stagger enemies, which makes it much easier to dispatch them.

The Hind of the Four Winds also focuses its stats on Strength and Defense, which are 2 great primary stats to stay invested in to give Kratos the best weapon inGod of War: RagnarokNorse Mythology.
Kratos does seem to love charging into a rageful fight, and with theFearless Sprinterperk, he can do just that with even less fear than he already has. This perk allows Kratos to apply more Stun during his Hoplite Lunge and Phalanx Breaker skills, which are achieved through Sprint + R1/R2. It also has a chance for Moderate Luck chance for Unstoppable Aura, granting invincibility.

For every successful kill with this Spear, players could be granted a Health Burst thanks to theSlayer’s Health Burstperk attached to the handle. Players will need a moderate amount of Luck for the Health Burst, but luckily the Hind of Deadly Vitality focuses on Luck, Cooldown and Defense. Theskill in Luckis appreciated thanks to it being the focus of the Perk.
