AGrand Theft Auto 5player has spotted an airplane in the game’s story mode, parked in what appears to be Michael De Santa’s neighborhood. The plane in question seemed to be a passenger jet that suffered some kind of damage. According to the player, the plane dropped out of the sky inGrand Theft Auto 5’s story mode.
In theGrand Theft Autogames, vehicles play a big part in the gameplay. InGrand Theft Auto 5, the player characters drive increasingly elaborate and more expensive vehicles as their heists become more complicated. Oddly enough, airplane related incidents pop up more in the online mode and is where players do bizarre things with them. In one instance, aGTA Onlineplayer managed to land a jeton the side of building. Sometimes, however,Grand Theft Auto 5’s AI does some bizarre things with planes in the game’s story mode.

The plane in question was spotted by Reddit user alphamp3. Exactly what caused the vehicle to fall out of the sky is unknown though bugs involving planes are relatively common in the game. For example, oneGrand Theft Auto 5glitch caused planes to hunt the playeruntil it was patched out. One commenter on the page noted that, for whatever reason, planes falling out of the sky in Michael’s neighborhood was a common bug and that they usually blew up upon impact.
As mentioned above, glitches like these typically pop up in the online mode but will, on occasion, appear in the story mode as well. In one bizarre instance, the online mode actually bled into the single player mode as anMK2 was spotted inGrand Theft Auto 5’s story mode. Luckily, in that particular instance, a plane did not fall out of the sky and ruin the vehicle.
Since it’s 2013 release,Grand Theft Auto 5has gone on to become the second best-selling video game of all time. The game’s online mode had also reportedly earned over $6 billion through DLC and microtransaction sales making it one of the highest grossing pieces of media of all time. Development of further content will likely slow down as Rockstar’s resources begin to pivot towards work onGrand Theft Auto 6, but the recently releasedCriminal Enterprisesupdate will likely ensure that players will remain hooked on the game for some time. Hopefully their play time will include plenty of random jets falling out of the sky.
