Since it first launched back in December of last year,Halo Infinitehas received a great amount of success. Though, one of the key components of that success is the multiplayer forHalo Infinite, which offers a litany of different competitive modes for players to select from. Now, it seems one such mode, which was originally meant to be a temporary mode, might become a more permanent part ofHalo Infinite.

One of the biggest differences betweenHalo Infiniteand previous entries in the series is that its multiplayer is free-to-play. Not only has this allowedHalo Infiniteto climb the free-game chartwith ease, but it also allows for a lot the same aspects seen in other free-to-play games, such as seasonal content that’s designed to be temporary. But it appears that one such piece of seasonal content will likely be a consistent part of the multiplayer from now on.

Over on Twitter, Andrew Witts, a343 Industriesdeveloper and the lead multiplayer designer forHalo Infinite, announced that the studio is looking to bring back Attrition in a more consistent manner. Witts went on to say that Attrition might receive its own playlist or be a part of another one at some point in the future.

While this isn’t a guarantee, this should certainly make a number of players excited.Attrition is new toHalo Infiniteand has quickly become a popular mode within its community of players. The mode was first introduced during the Cyber Showdown event and gained a significant amount of traction over the course of Attrition’s availability.

In any case, it’s amazing how much popularityHalo Infinitehas received in such a short timeframe. TheHaloseries has definitely left a significant impact on the world of gaming at large, but the last couple entries, such asHalo 4andHalo 5, weren’t received as well by someHalofans, compared to previous entries. Now,Halo Infinitehas managed to revitalize the series in an unexpected way.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds forHalo Infinitegoing forward. While there is a lot of content for players to enjoy already, in the form of both single-player and multiplayer, there’s still a lot of content forHalo Infinitethat has yet to be released. One of which being theForge mode forHalo Infinite, which has shown no signs of arriving anytime soon. With any luck, more information will be shared with fans in the coming months.

Halo Infiniteis available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
