While IO Interactive may have already started working on itsJames Bondgame, the studio’s previous flagship,Hitman 3, isn’t done just yet, as some recent leaks have now confirmed. Namely, the game is due to receive yet another batch of content over the coming months, the most important element of which is the so-called Freelance Mode, a special randomly-generated campaign mode.

The core premise ofHitman 3’s upcoming Freelance Mode has already been revealed, as the feature is going to present the players with a new, organic way to enjoy theHitmangameplay loop, but the specifics are rather cloudy still. Curiously, the new leaks posted by leaker scoobywizard may have revealed some exclusive rewards that could be coming with Freelance Mode or, perhaps, as part of the game’s general Year 2 content release schedule.

Scoobywizard’s leaks aren’t necessarily comprehensive, as they’re limited purely to the various suits that Agent 47 may be able to unlock after an upcomingHitman 3content update. The bit that gives these leaks additional veracity is that some of the leaked suits have already been featured as part of theofficialHitman 3September roadmap, such as the neon-laden ninja outfit. Others, on the other hand, may be particularly interesting toHitmanfranchise veterans, as they seem to be throwbacks to some of the oldest games in the series.

It is, of course, worth remembering thatHitman 3’s Freelance Mode should’ve been out already, as it was initially supposed to launch as part of the game’s April content update. It was subsequently pushed back to late May, only to get yet another pushback with a vague launch window of the second half of 2022. The fact that such a wide array of unique suits has now been leaked therefore suggests that Freelance Mode may be coming out relatively soon.

Worth mentioning is the fact that IO Interactive didn’t leaveHitmanfans hanging in the interim.Hitman 3received a special pirate mapin late July, giving players something to sink their teeth into while waiting for Freelance Mode to finally come out. Ambrose Island offered an interesting change of pace to the players, and it was released alongside the game’s ray tracing update, giving RT-ready gamers another reason to go back and replay older content as well.

Now that leaks have suggested that Freelance Mode and other assorted Year 2 content forHitman 3might introduce new suits for Agent 47, it’s possible that the mode may also afford players access to some of thebest gear seen inHitmanyet. IO Interactive intends to round off its newHitmantrilogy with an organic, ever-changing campaign mode with rogue-lite tendencies, but it doesn’t seem impossible that playing it might end up unlocking unique weapons and gadgets, too.

Hitman 3is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
