Hogwarts Legacyachievements on some platforms may not be correctly tracking the progress players have made in the game. Achievements and trophies can encourage some users to spend more time playing a game, and possibly aim for 100% completion. The full list of achievements is usually available before a game’s launch, andHogwarts Legacywas no different.
Back in December 2022, it was confirmed fans could earn up to45 achievements or trophies inHogwarts Legacy, excluding the highly sought-after Platinum trophy on PlayStation consoles. Being an open-world game,Hogwarts Legacyis filled with collectibles and side activities, with many of them tied to its trophies and achievements. Fans will also unlock achievements as they progress through the main story and complete important side quests, but it looks like some of these achievements are not correctly tracking the story missions gamers have finished while playingHogwarts Legacy.

A Reddit user named NickySnipez has made a new post highlighting two specific achievements inHogwarts Legacyto prove their point. The first one is called The Sort Who Makes an Entrance, and it tasks users with completing theSorting Hat ceremony inHogwarts Legacy. This takes place near the beginning of the game, shortly after the intro, and it allows users to be a part of a house of their choice. Players will notice the encircled stat, confirming that 83.71% of gamers who have playedHogwarts Legacyhave unlocked this achievement.

It’s not unusual for some players to have not earned the first story-related trophy or achievement in a game, so this number doesn’t seem that out of place. However, the next image shared by NickySnipez reveals that 95.68% of gamers have unlocked the A Talent for Spending achievement, earned for spending 5talent points inHogwarts Legacy. The achievement for spending talent points unlocks much later in the game, while the Sorting Hat ceremony takes place after the intro, making this stat extremely puzzling.
A few users in the comments section think that the progress tracker could be glitched, resulting in the first achievement not unlocking for some fans. Gamers have shared all sorts of theories and reasons for this result, but there doesn’t appear to be a concrete answer that justifies the stats. Players have also shared achievement stats from theSteam version ofHogwarts Legacy, confirming them to be correct, so this problem may be limited to the Xbox version of the game.
Hogwarts Legacyis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching May 5 and a Switch port releasing July 25.
