InHonkai: Star Rail,Jingliu is a new ice-type characterthat follows the Path of Destruction. She was once considered to be the strongest sword master on the Xianzhou Luofu before her fateful confrontation with Jing Yuan, her former apprentice. One of Jingliu’s most notable design features is her eye mask, which she claims to wear as proof of her resolve following all of her past hardships.
Honkai: Star Railplayers have discovered a new trick that allows them to take off Jingliu’s eye mask in the game’s Photo Mode. Her eye mask may be taken off by selecting the “turn character around” option in camera settings and selecting “idle action 2” in quick succession. This trick will allow players to roam around as Jingliu without her eye mask sinceHonkai: Star Railwill detect that she’s in the “Spectral Transmigration” state, which is active after using Shine of Truth. However, some members oftheHonkai: Star Railcommunityare having issues while attempting to replicate the trick and take a photo of Jingliu with her eyes exposed.
According to Reddit user pepzelos, Jingliu’s eye mask will return if the player activates her ability and opensPhoto Mode inHonkai: Star Rail. Some players note that the eye mask trick may not work in a few instances while using Photo Mode, so it’s possible that HoYoverse may have not intended for Jingliu’s eye mask to be removed outside of combat. Other players in theHonkai: Star Railcommunity such as Xenn_ were able to take a photo after doing the trick for themselves, but results may vary.
The recent discovery has led manyHonkai: Star Railplayers to request a toggle feature that allows them to freely remove Jingliu’s eye mask whenever they want. Other fans argue that HoYoverse will likely not consider this feature since the trick is likely possible due to a bug involving the idle stance option in Photo Mode.
The possibility remains for a bug fix inHonkai: Star RailVersion 1.5, which is expected to release in mid-November 2023. At the very least, the bug lets Jingliu fans take off her eye mask with relative ease inHonkai: Star Railfor now. Her eye mask may still be removed by activating Shine of Truth, and a workaround involving Windows screenshot shortcuts is still an option.
