Final Fantasy 7 Remakeis undeniably one of the biggest releases of the year andSquare Enix has been greatly enjoying its success since its April launch. The publisher recently shared its financial report, which shows how it’s digital earnings more than doubled compared to last year, primarily because of the remake.
However, while the reception forFinal Fantasy 7 Remakehas been overwhelmingly positive from both fans and critics, a lot of players have technically been playing an incomplete game, primarily those based outside of the U.S.A. This is because American players were able get hold of exclusive DLC that was only made available viaa partnership between Square Enix and Butterfinger.

This DLC could be acquired by purchasing select Butterfinger products and only provided extra pieces of equipment. But, surprisingly, it has been discovered that the DLC is now available to download for players worldwide and is completely free to boot.
The DLC in question consists of three pieces of armor - Corneo’s Armlet, the Midgar Bangle, and the Shinra Bangle - and two accessories, the Mako Crystal and the Superstar Belt. The Mako Crystal reduces fire, ice, lightning, and wind damage and the Superstar Belt prevents its wearer from being incapacitated once per battle.
While none of these are necessarily game-changers, it’s still nice to see once exclusive content made available for everybody and for no additional cost. The timing also happens to coincide with the game currently being on sale, withboth the PlayStation Store and third-party retailers sellingFinal Fantasy 7 Remakefor the cheapest it’s ever been. If there is still anyone who hasn’t played ityet, now is the perfect time to grab a copy and find out what the fuss is all about.
However, there is an odd irony to this, though, as this also follows news that Square Enix’s upcomingAvengersgame willfeature Spider-Man as an exclusive playable character for PlayStation owners, which has resulted in quite the backlash.
As for the future, Square Enix is already hard at work onthe second instalment ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, and fans have tons of questions regarding certain plot points and characters, such as how it will incorporate Yuffie and Vincent Valentine, who were both optional party members in the original game.
And with some of the changes the first instalment has made to the original game’s story, many are curious to see what else will be different in Part 2.
