Activision’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas done it again with the newest update. The launch of Season 1 and its related battle pass has players scrambling to complete over 20 tiers of content in new maps, new game modes, and new special ops experiences. Just through playing, everyone can earn the free 20 tiers as well as the RAM 7 and Holger-26 weapons. Players can alsopurchase the battle pass for 1000 COD points or 10 dollarsto unlock up to 100 tiers of rewards, weapon blueprints, exclusive challenges, and the new Operator Mara who was featured in the Season 1 cinematic. On the other hand, Nikto who headlined the cinematic opposite to Mara is nowhere to be found in the store… currently.
Operators are the purchasable skins ofModern Warfare; each character has their own background, voiceover, nationality, and customization options. Alloperators belong to one of two multiplayer groups: the Coalition or the Allegiance. Nikto is part of the Allegiance faction, located in the ‘Spetsnaz’ category as the fourth and final member. Currently, the game tells players to ‘Unlock by purchasing Operator in the Store’ in order to get Nikto. However, if players scroll through the entire store, they will find Nikto is MIA. In the end, Nikto isn’t available in Modern Warfare currently, but will become available during the course of Season 1.

Activision has not given a release schedule for Nikto, but Season 1 will end on January 28th. With that date in mind, Nikto can appear anytime up to the end of the season in slightly under two months. Note that previous blog posts have confirmed that Nikto will be available in a bundle that includes watches, Operator skins, and other cosmetics. Players should be aware that despite Nikto’s current unlock condition when hovered over, he cannot be unlocked ahead of his official release inModern Warfareby purchasing other Operators or current bundles.
Once Nikto is purchasable, players just need to head to the store option located in the multiplayer menu on the far right. In the end, it seems likely that Activision will hold out on releasing Nikto until the middle or end of Season 1. This would make sense as well as contrast with Mara’s start-of-the-season debut and presence. Regardless of when, the news will spread quickly once Activision pushes the button so players should keep checking the store and playing throughCall of Duty’sbiggest free content drop everin the meantime.
