MCU fans have a lot to look forward to when Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds meet inDeadpool 3, especially now that, according to Jackman, his Wolverine is coming back angrier than ever.

Ever since the two actors made the announcement that Jackman would be part ofDeadpool 3, and thus Marvel Studios' radar as a whole, there’s been plenty of speculation as to how exactly Wolverine’s persona will transfer to the MCU’s only R-rated film. However, the Australian actor himself has clarified that he’s coming back to portray the gnarliest version of Wolverine, taking after his very last performance in the also R-ratedLogan.

Jackman’s comments came during a brief talk with a reporter from theAssociated Pressthat took place atThe Son’s red carpet premiere, where he was naturally asked aboutDeadpool 3. The actor admitted that he now has a better understanding of what theDeadpool 3script looks like for Logan and, without revealing too much, he stated that there’s no chance of Wolverine becoming soft for the MCU. In Jackman’s own words, fans should expect an “angrier, acerbic, grumpy” superhero who is going to betaking a lot of shots at Ryan Reynolds, as in physical violence, instead of the verbal kind Deadpool loves so much.

At the same time, Jackman continued to express his excitement over a role he believed to have left behind, though that means he’s busy getting back inX-Menlevels of fitness for the task. BesidesThe Son, Jackman’s latest roles have seen him star inReminiscence, as well as his ongoing part in Broadway’sThe Music Man.Then there’s his upcoming venture in animation by starring inJustin Roiland’sKoala Man.

Keeping up with their faux rivalry, Reynolds and Jackman have created a lot of buzz forDeadpool 3already, even two years before the movie comes out, thanks to the two actors’ charismatic personalities and their impeccable marketing game. Despite recent delays in its scheduling, Marvel Studios still hasDeadpool 3as the explosive opening act to Phase Six in the Multiverse Saga right before theFantastic Four, with the mouthy mercenary andWolverine likely ushering in the X-Men’s arrivalto the MCU.

Those two films were pushedback due to problems affectingBlade’s production, another movie that is arguably suited to an R-rating. However, together they make up some of the most exciting content Marvel Studios has in store for the coming years.
