One of Marvel’smore unique projects in recent yearshas gotten another full minute trailer, dropped by its Twitter account.Helstrom, which is releasing a full season to Hulu on October 16th, has been pretty quiet since it was originally announced, but now seems to be making itself known in anticipation of its release. Daimon and Satana Helstrom feature in the trailer, which hints at their mother also being a central figure.

The trailer seems to lean heavily into the horror vibes that the early teasers suggested, with the Helstrom siblings investigating something that their mother let loose on the world. It also features a lot of interesting action, gloomy locations, and quite a few sinister music stings. That said, it gives very little away that wasn’t already known about the story, teasing lots of interesting conflicts, but not actually giving much background on what’s going on.

The series was originally announced in 2019, meant to be a standalone seriesset in the Marvel Cinematic Universefeaturing Daimon and Satana Helstrom from the comics.Helstromwas meant to be part of a larger initiative which Marvel was calling “Adventure Into Fear,” meant to replace the Netflix shows that had been cancelled. Things fell apart however after the cancellation ofGhost Rider, and soon a full shutdown of Marvel Television followed.Helstrom, already in production, was the only show that survived, but its future beyond this season, and its role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is unclear.

In spite of the other projects crashing and burning,Helstromis planned to run for at least 10 episodes and debut during the “Huluween” programming block. Every episode will be available when the series drops, and it should hopefully provide an interesting new look at the Marvel Universe, especially for those starved for MCU content in the midst of the global pandemic. All we know for sure about the series is a brief synopsis: “Daimon and Ana Helstrom, the children of a powerful serial killer, hunt the worst of humanity.” Hopefully the show will be as spooky and intriguing as promised.

Helstromwill be available on Hulu starting October 16th.
