Call of Duty: Warzonehas been a wildly successful entry into the Battle Royale genre for Activision and developer Infinity Ward, asthe game has been topping chartsand growing a strong playerbase. With the release of Season 3 content for the game however, a few bugs have popped up, causing players some grief.

In the games-as-service model, the constant updates and rebalancing of items breathes new life into a game, giving players a new challenge to seek out new ways to win with different loadouts. When dropping new weapons into players hands inCall of Duty: Warzone, players looking to be the best will immediatelyestablish tier lists for the weaponry. It means players always have to be aware of the effects that updates have on the game. That required knowledge extends to bugs that are almost unavoidable for a game likeWarzone.

The latest bug to be found in the update occurs in the Tavorsk District, and the issue revolves around a taller building with curved windows in the district. According to players on Reddit, players on the first floor of the building in question can be shot at from the street, but cannot return fire. Their bullets simply disappear. Some players have found that the opposite scenario can also occur, wherein players on the street are vulnerable, and are unable to hit players inside the building. On theModern Warfaresubreddit Infinity Ward art director Joel ‘ArtPeasant’ Emslie left a simple acknowledgement of the issue by commenting “Noted.” This is the second widely reported bug to come from Season 3, after players noticed theGhost perk working inconsistently.

This bug with the building in Tavorsk is relatively minor in the scheme of things, but would certainly be an unwelcome one to encounter in the middle of a firefight. In the heat of battle, to have players potentially camped behind a bank of windows that offer bulletproof protection feels a little unfair.

Knowing that there are millions of players picking upWarzone, and to keep that potentially fickle playerbase from jumping ship to a competitor in the battle royale genre, Activision and Infinity Ward have been quick to act when issues arise inWarzone. When fans were annoyed that Trios mode was cut,it was reinstated almost immediately. When players were caught cheating, accounts were banned.

With the COVID-19 pandemic keeping large numbers of people at home,Warzoneis finding an even larger audience of gamers dropping in on the frenetic 150-person battles. That reach extends to late night television, whereSaturday Night Live took aimat Twitch streamers by featuringWarzonein a sketch.

Maintaining this kind of mainstream spotlight and positive exposure requires a developer to be mindful of feedback from its player base.COD: Warzoneplayers hope this latest bug will be patched as soon as possible, and based on previous response times, it stands to reason it will be.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
