In the weeks since its launchElden Ringhas quickly taken over the gaming community. February 2022 was quite the stacked month for gaming too, with other anticipated titles likeHorizon Forbidden WestandSifulaunching all within the space of a few weeks.Elden Ring hasmanaged to create an overwhelming amount of success, both where sales and reviews are concerned, becoming one of the highest rated games of all time.
With the traditional gameplay that can be expected from FromSoftware games, alongside a brand-new setting partly built byfantasy author George R.R. Martin,Elden Ringappeared exciting for new fans looking to get into a Soulsborne RPG as well as adding enough new elements to give something to older fans who’d loyally played through theDark Souls, Bloodborne, andSekirotitles. With new bosses, new mechanics and an updated character creator as just a few things thatElden Ringadded to keep players interested, there’s another returning element to the game that may prove harder than some of the game’s bosses.

Invading, where anElden Ringplayer will enter another’s world in order to kill them. Invading is the main PvP element in most of theDark Soulsgames, allowing players to fight something beyond the huge beasts and hulking giants in plate armor that make upElden Ring’sbosses. Sometimes, these invasions can prove annoying for the player getting invaded, as they risk losing some progression and their collected runes in the process. However, some invasions can prove to be quite the event, when two equally matched players duel to the death.
A Reddit clip posted by u/No_Zucchini6588 falls into the latter of those two categories, as the user shows off the poetic end to what was a five-minute duel against an invader. The twoElden Ringplayers fight in silence, wielding their swords with some serious skill before the duel ends with both characters landing a fatal blow at the same time. Not only does this result in both players dying at the same time, but their animations remain in perfect synchronization also.
This results in the duel ending with a dramatic, poetic moment of both players acknowledging their victory and defeat. Not all ofElden Ring’smultiplayer moments are filled with as much drama as aGame of Thronesepisode though. If anything, often players use the limited multiplayer aspects of the game to leavehilarious messages lying around for otherElden Ringplayersto discover, sometimes even leading them into traps.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
