Gunn took to Twitter to share context regarding the Hollywood Reporter article aboutWonder Woman 3. In his Twitter thread, the head of DC Studios somewhat clears the air by defining that some information in the article is true, partially true, untrue, and also what is currently undecided. He went on to describe how building thisDC Universe 10-year planthat connects various forms of multimedia takes time and going into this, he was aware that the DCU was fractious, meaning big changes would have to be made. Most notably, Gunn describes how their goal is to build on what has worked in the DCU so far while fixing what has not, lending some evidence towards a full reboot not being in the cards.
However, with more answers come more questions. Despite Gunn’s transparency regarding the trajectory of the DCU as it relates to secondary information, little has been confirmed on what information from the THR article is true. Even so, it is likely thatWonder Woman 3is being canceled, as Gal Gadot took to Twitter to share gratitude for her time as the character, even thoughWonder Woman 3was previously greenlitby the prior regime at DC Studios.
Gunn goes on to describe that everything he and Safran have planned for the franchise is in service of DC Comics and reiterates how much of a fan they are, as Gunn grew up with comic books and then went on to make several successful comic book movies. His Twitter thread ends with a panel of Justice League art by Alex Ross, adding further fuel totheKingdom Cometheoriesthat could hint at what Gunn has planned.
