Jonathan Majors has recently denied rumors that he will be appearing as Kang the Conqueror in the new seriesLoki. With Major’s strong attachment and involvement in the MCU universe, it makes complete sense that he would take on the presumed role inLoki.

However, all of these original plans seem to have gone completely out the window. Majors recently sat down withVarietyfor an interview to discuss the longevity and future of his career. It was then that Majors strongly denounced any rumors of him appearing inLokias Kang. This comes as a puzzling statement to fans, especially since Majors has been cast asKang the Conqueror inAnt-Man 3for quite some time now. Majors toldVariety, “I have no idea what you are talking about,” with regards to making his first appearance as Kang inLoki. Although Majors' presence inLokimay not be there, it is still quite likely that at least the character of Kang the Conqueror will still be a part of the series - regardless of who takes on the role.

Even though Majors is rejecting his involvement with the series, his claim to have no idea of such a rumor is still a bit hard to believe. This further solidifies for fans that if there’s this muchtalk around Kang the Conqueror, then his appearance in Loki seems secure. This denial of Majors appearing inLokihas stirred up some questions from fans as to just how the character would be featured in the series. Since the series is based heavily on the comics, there are a lot of storylines and narratives that Marvel could decide to focus on - or not even include at all. Majors' oblivious nature surrounding his involvement in the series, especially since Marvel confirmed his appearance inAnt-Man 3a year ago, is mysterious at best.

The disclosure contracts that actors have to sign when they are a part of the MCU universe are not something to mess around with. Majors may just be adhering to his contract, so he claims to be detached in a way that is firm, but still remains as an open-ended no. Majors claiming he has “no idea” doesn’t seem to add up, therefore he may just be protectingspoilers forLoki. He may just be claiming he has no knowledge whatsoever about any rumors so that fans will be surprised and held in suspension.

All of this may be confusing or even shocking news for fans since Marvel Studios had already solidified that Majors would be the one to take on the role of Kang. But it’s worth remembering that his role as Kang was onlyreported forAnt-Man 3and that the idea of the character appearing inLokiwas merely a rumor created by fans, no matter how likely it may seem.
