Final Fantasy 7 Remakeis a complete retelling of theFinal Fantasy 7story, with some changes. Perhaps the biggest change is how muchFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeexpands on the original’s plot, with players spending the whole game in Midgar. This allowed the developers to flesh-out certain characters more and offer more depth to the story overall, but it also meant that some characters have yet to make theirRemakedebut.

Final Fantasy 7 Remakegave a brief cameo tofuture party member Cait Sith, and theIntermissionDLC shines the spotlight on Yuffie. However, there are still a couple of party members that still need to make theirRemakedebut. Plus, an important member of the Turks also didn’t appear at all during the events ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, though they too will likely be making their appearance inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, whenever that comes out.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2is still largely shrouded in mystery. It’s unclear exactly how far in the story Square Enix will take things next, but these three important characters are still likely to make appearances inPart 2, assuming the developers don’t take everything in completely unexpected directions, that is.

Vincent Valentine

It’s possible thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2’s story won’tquiteget to the point whereVincent Valentinejoins the party, but one has to imagine that he will still play some role in the game regardless. After all, the firstFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeincluded a brief cameo appearance by Cait Sith, and so it stands to reason that something similar can be done with Vincent. Plus, some of the story developments inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake’s Yuffie DLC make a Vincent appearance inPart 2seem even more likely. Those who have yet to play the Yuffie DLC should proceed with caution as there are someSPOILERSahead.

Those that have managed to get their hands on a PlayStation 5 console and have playedFinal Fantasy 7 Remake’s Yuffie DLCwill know that the expansion introduces some characters that are directly tied to Vincent. Specifically,Final Fantasy 7 Remake’sIntermissionYuffie DLC adds the characters Weiss the Immaculate and his brother Nero the Sable, two members of Shinra’s secret military group Deepground.

Elena advent children

What’s significant about Weiss and Nero is that they appear prominently inDirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy 7, aFinal Fantasy 7spin-off gamethat features Vincent as the main playable character. It seems likely that Weiss and Nero will be featured inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, considering their introduction inIntermission, and so it would make sense to throw Vincent into the mix as well. Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen, of course, but hopefully fans don’t have to wait too long to find out if Vincent is going to appear inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2.

Something that’s unclear about Vincent is if he will still be an optional party member inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2(orPart 3or whenever he shows up), like he was in the original game. Yuffie was also anoptional party member in the originalFinal Fantasy 7, and considering the showcase she got duringFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intermission, it’s hard to see her being optional in the next game. The same logic can probably apply to Vincent.

Cid Highwind

TheFinal Fantasy 7party members meetCid Highwindin Rocket Town, and he soon joins the party to fight against Shinra. Events inFinal Fantasy 7put Cid at odds with Shinra and more specifically, President Rufus, pretty quickly, and so he’s all-in on the group’s vendetta against Shinra before too long. Cid joins theFinal Fantasy 7party shortly after Vincent is added to the mix, though the difference is Cid has always been a required party member.

Final Fantasy 7 Remakeisn’t afraid to make story changes, so it will be interesting to see exactly how Cid is introduced in the game and what happens in his story. It’s quite likely that his role in the story will be tweaked and expanded compared to how he was presented in the originalFinal Fantasy 7, but details remain scarce. Fans will have towait for theFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2reveal to learn more.

Elena

Elena is a member ofFinal Fantasy 7’s villainous Turks group, but she doesn’t appear in the original game until the party reaches the Mythril Mine area. She will almost certainly be making her debut inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, as the Mythril Mine is visited fairly quickly after the point in the story whereFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeleaves off. Elena is one of the newest members of the Turk organization, and so she isn’t quite as intense as other members of the organization. Seeing her relationship with the other Turks and their interactions with AVALANCHE should be interesting to see withFF7 Remake’s upgraded graphics and new story elements.
