Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxycombines a choice-based narrative with hectic combat. Knowing thebest Perks to unlock firstcan not only help while fighting but can also save players a lot of time exploring.

Although extra health and shields sound tempting, they aren’t really needed at the beginning of the game. Elemental abilities don’t come into effect later in the story, and they definitely shouldn’t be picked first either. The following Perks are best unlocked as early as possible to maximize their usefulness inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Best Perks to Unlock First in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Components Localizer

The Components Localizer is absolutely the best Perk to get first. It adds a symbol to the top-right of the screen and makes a noise when Crafting Components are nearby. The symbol will also appear inStar-Lord’s visor inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, making them much easier to spot.

It may not be the coolest sounding Perk, but it will save players a lot of time searching for materials to unlock even more Perks at a much quicker pace.

Charged Shot

Charged Shot is a great Perk forcombat inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxyto get early on because of its assistance in staggering enemies. It takes a while to build up enough Ability Points to spend on additional character moves that do Stagger damage.

Meaning at the beginning of the game players only have one move fromDrax inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxythat causes Stagger to enemies. This move isn’t usually enough to completely fill an enemy’s gauge, so finishing them off with the Charged Shot can save a lot of time (and deaths) in early combat scenarios. This Perk becomes less effective as players unlock more abilities.

Tactical Scan

This allows Star-Lord to Scan enemies with his visor while in combat. It reveals enemy weaknesses, and advises players on how best to defeat them. It’s not really needed on low-level creatures but is incredibly helpful when fighting high-leveledvillains inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Just be careful while scanning, as the combat won’t go into slow motion until the creature has been fully scanned. Meaning players can get hurt pretty badly while not able to shoot in the visor mode.

Air Glide

Air Glide makes Star-Lord glide around targets for a short time while shooting. It’s basically a mini-version of his “Vantage Point” ability and can help save on health and death count when getting overwhelmed by enemies. Jumping while near an enemy will help activate it.
