Marvel’s Midnight Suns’recent gameplay showcase for Captain Marveloffers a deep-dive into her abilities and cards, which all revolve around effects or resources such as Binary, Taunt, Block, and heroism. The showcase gives players a look at the Hunter interacting with their Marvel companions at the Abbey and engaging in activities with them there. Here, the showcase depicts the Hunter exercising with Carol at a bench press. Interestingly, each barbell plate reads “Fogwell,” a name fans will know if they are well-acquainted with Daredevil.

Indeed, the name Fogwell comes from Fogwell’s Gym, a boxing gym in Marvel fandom located in Manhattan’s Lower West Side. The gym is only really associated with Daredevil in particular as it was the gym that Matt Murdock’s father, known as Battlin’ Jack Murdock, would frequently train and box at. This nod to the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen inMarvel’s Midnight Sunsmay or may not actually amount to anything significant, and may only ever be there as a fun Easter egg.

Rather, if Daredevil does end up beingMarvel’s Midnight Suns’ final unlockable character, fans would surely be excited. But there has also beena subtle reference inMarvel’s Midnight Sunsto Moon Knight, which featured the name Khonshu seen on multiple banners along the Mid-Manhattan Museum. Therefore, it is just as likely that Moon Knight could fill that final spot on the roster.

Firaxis and 2K may choose to revealMarvel’s Midnight Suns’ final character sooner than later. But it is also possible that players must wait to beat the game themselves before the final character is fully revealed, and these references to other characters may simply be there to establish its connected Marvel universe.

Marvel’s Midnight Sunsreleases October 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A Switch version is also in development.
