At a point in the story, gamers will find themselves in Noveria so they can investigate the Council’s concerns regarding the research going on in this colony, Commander Shepard learns that Matriarch Benezia, Liara’s mother and Saren’s right hand, was there not too long before.

Upon receiving this information, Shepard’s mission becomes finding the matriarch so they can question her and obtain more information on Saren’s plan. Matriarch Benezia’s Whereabouts
The player can conduct a thorough investigation by questioning tons of people at Port Hanshan and doing so will increase their knowledge of Matriarch Benezia’s location and why she even came to Noveria in the first place. They will learn that she arrived a few days before Shepard; Benezia came withan asari escortand large, heavy, sealed cargo. No one seems to know what she was carrying, but it passed the weapons screening.
It is reported that she came on business for Binary Helix, but at the time of Shepard’s arrival, Benezia had already left the public port area and had gone to Peak 15, a remote location with a bad reputation. Peak 15 is a private facility in the Skati mountains. A blizzard in the area is preventing everyone from going up there. Shuttles have been grounded and surface access has also been cut off. In order to get there, the player has to get permission and obtain a garage pass.
How To Obtain The Garage Pass
There are two missions that the player can complete in order to get the garage pass needed to drive out to Peak 15: Noveria: Smuggling or Noveria: Lorik Qui’in.
On the right upper corner of the Port Hanshan Plaza, players can visit Opold’s shop. There, they will meet Opold, a hanar merchant. Opold needs Shepard’s help because he needs to get a package through customs without it being scanned by security. Shepard can question the hanar to gather more information during thisinterestingMass Effectside quest, but ultimately, they can betray him and tell Adminstrator Anoleis that the merchant is trying to smuggle a weapons mod into Noveria.
Noveria: Smuggling is actually the fastest way to obtain the garage pass, but doing so without obtaining the Noveria: Lorik Qui’in assignment makes it so that players lose out on important lore about Noveria.
If the player doesn’t get Anoleis’s garage pass during the Noveria: Smuggling mission, they have to talk to Gianna Parasini, his secretary, to obtain the Noveria: Lorik Qui’in mission. Lorik Qui’in is the manager of the Synthetic Insights Hanshan office. Synthetic Insights is currently closed because Lorik has been put under internal review by Administrator Anoleis.
Gamers can find Lorik at the hotel bar, which can be accessed through the elevator on the upper left corner of the plaza. Lorik can give Shepard his garage pass, but he needs a favor first. It seems that he’s got evidence of Anoleis’s corruption on his computer in his office, but the security team is also corrupt and currently rummaging through it to confiscate it. The player must download this data to retrieve it and help Lorik.

Lorik gives Shepard their elevator pass, so they can access the elevator on the lower left corner of the plaza and get to the Synthetic Insights office. There, the player will have to deal with some guards before they reach the computer to download the files.
Gianna Parasini will want to talk toCommander Shepardbefore they go back to Lorik with the evidence. She will disclose that she’s an Internal Affairs investigator, and the board knows about Anoleis’s corruption, but they need Qui’in to testify against him to put Anoleis away.
The player has three options here, all of which will result in Shepard obtaining the garage pass: hand over the evidence to Anoleis, return the evidence to Lorik Qui’in, or convince him to testify.
Peak 15
When Shepard finally gets to the garage, there will be geth destroyers that they have to eliminate. This was what the asari were carrying in the crates. Since Saren is an important investor at Noveria, he can do as he pleases because otherwise, he would threaten to sell stock.
After taking down the geth, Shepard and their squad can at last get into the car and drive up to the location. As they progress through the facility, they will come across various rachni workers and rachni soldiers that they must destroy. The system must be manually rebooted. The reactor is offline, and the Virtual Intelligence computer program has suffered a failure.
The player can enter the Mira Core in order to repair the damaged system. They can either automatically do it with 100 Omni-gel or attempt a manual reactivating to reconfigure the data banks bysolving the Memory Core module puzzle.
Mira, the VI, will appear once the core has been reactivated. The player can now get more information on where Benezia has gone. According to Mira, she went to the Rift Station, a Binary Helix research facility, via passenger trams. Emergency containment procedures deemed the trams inoperable.
The player has to deal with three issues before they’re allowed to leave for the Rift Station: reconnecting the landlines on the roof, turning on the central reactor core in the reactor room, and taking down the contaminants when heading to the passenger trams.
Once at the Rift Station, the player has to take the elevator to the main room where they will talk to Captain Ventralis. He mentions that the matriarch has been sent to the Hot Labs, and he even gives Shepard his card to activate the elevator there. This is not true, however, and Benezia is actually hiding in the Secure Lab.
Players can get to the Secure Lab by entering the Restricted Area or the Ventilation Room near the Scientist Barracks. There, they will have to fight a few henchmen before finally encountering Matriarch Benezia. Players can talk to her to learn more about Saren’s plan and understand her situation and odd behavior.
