On July 25,Warzonepro player and notedCall of Dutyinsider Metaphor alleged that the launch ofModern Warfare 3would also bring a new map forWarzone. On top of that, this map will include lots of points of interest that are, themselves, based on maps from past games in the series. According to Metaphor, this map “looks amazing” and should be a hit with fans who are looking for a change of pace from recentWarzonemaps.
Among the points of interest on this map, there will apparently be a downtown that’s modeled after the Verdansk map, a building that copies Overwatch from 2011sModern Warfare 3, and the originalModern Warfare’sCountdown. According to Metaphor, this map will, in general, be a departure from the open spaces of recent maps and a return to more close quarters combat. There have beenrumors thatModern Warfare 3will bring back classicCall of Dutyfeatures. Now, it seems the game will be bringing some classic maps back toWarzoneas well.
